I am fine with hard but I don’t like to be paired with totally clueless level 50-100 or nova/butcher/illidan first pickers. That is not hard, is nonsense. Regardless of hard, it’s also way too slow. Assuming you have a 55%(unreal) win rate it would take you 25hours of playing to climb from Gold 5 to Gold 4.
200 points x 55 - 200 x 45 = 2000 points = 2 ranks
100 games x 30 minutes = 50 hours
The ranks feel static, they don’t really move. Every season there should be a way to climb from bronze/silver to your limit then start over the next season. Right now most people I know are stuck in their rank regardless they play o not.
This is the MOBA for casuals, If you try to make suggestiong you get reported. Expecting players to look for self improvement is too naive even for you. Some tutorials or gold rewards for teching challanges wouldn’t hurt.
You miss the point. Is “please don’t go 1v5 or we lose” worth a report? Currently you can get reported for it and GM will not do anything about it. You can type to your friends only else you’ll soon get banned.
yet another wall of complains. if only you put that time and effort to the actual game.
the only safe way to avoid direct report shots is to first check the grounds - use pings and see how they react. the main problem with panic orders (shotcalls) - noone really care to time it right. -dont go 1v5 pls i beg u T-T- if used too late or too early (the dude was only moved in that direction never actually planning to engage) will rase your chances to grab that reports. and btw how is that unique to HotS only? other games tolerate flamers? and if so mb thats just a trash games to begin with?
It never was organic. I admit I enjoyed this game in the beginning as my first MOBA, but making this an e-sport game from the ground up was the design intent behind being so team based.
I see now the error in making a MOBA so team based. So much of the skill is in the macro of the map and when you suck all of that out for pure team fight mechanics, it makes it poison to the MMR.
Its not something like making a team based FPS like Overwatch where there is a bit more ability to carry a match. When I entered OW I was bronze and felt I deserved it, and within a few months time improved my skill to start approaching gold.
Versus HotS where I literally had to learn how to play the game incorrectly in order to get out of bronze. You cant get out of bronze playing like a platinum player would, because you have to play to your team mates
sorry but you’re bound to tolerate my style of conversation for now.
if you seriously trying to grind ranks you should at least take some actions against unfavourable circumstances. like after spotting a troll or noob - dont immediately jump to next game creating a gap in searching pool. many other stuff can be done
you cant have that many without playing some other.
easily possible if some smurf let his children troll some knuckheads into suicide. it happens.
are we talking about human rights now? they are free to spit on you opinion 24/7 - is that also concerns you?
and by the way. if you imply that your arguments are not -whining- its hard to tell if you khow the meaning
I feel like the team based dynamic waters down the action by having 5 teammates. Shared experience is fine. Individual exp seems to cater to narcissistic behavior.
The game was free to play. Dumping money that could go to making the game into prize money, studios, camera men, announcers ect. Not to mention paying tuition’s. They had to 2.0.
Activision’s drop in stock forced the the game to deaths door due to trickle down pressure.
We can but hope that they manage to turn things around. Goodwill changes to core systems and monetisation has in the past revived hurting games. Depends if we’ve been left with a skeleton crew that can’t achieve much.
Worst matchmaker ive ever saw in any game and dumb player base made the downfall. Just lost match when it was ballanced at beginning until our 3 brilliant players went top and enemy team vanished obviously to ambush them, we pinged them to retreat and gues what ?? they got pwned enemy took boss pushed and we lost cuz of 3 idiots so this game will fail cuz IQ of player is just too low.
how blizzard managed to operate all this years w/o u guys is miracle.
makin’ new game accessible to as many ppl as possible is a wise move imo. twas somethin’ amon’ few thin’s done right. was pro tournaments fail? dont looks that way cuz cuttin’ it brin’ so much outcrys around the web - everyone was watchin’ it n were inspired to improve own performance. orthodox nature of game mechanics cant be observed as a flaw. its not entilery around team coordination - its about comeback possibility treats which make gameplay spectacular. we can agree mi guess that developers never stopped to balance thin’s n keep it relatively stable. personally hate that blizz ignored consoles that now overrun by other publishers. imagine how SC2 could takeover sony charts. HotS also could benefit with addition of sony titles.
currently we cant see any alternative mobas usin’ hots mechanics n structure. game is afloat after such hit lethal to any other. nothin’s over until devs giveup n they show no sign of goin’ down w/o a fight yet.
One problem people really don’t like talking about is the micro transactions.
Namely, Blizzard dumped so many loot boxes and gold everywhere that there really wasn’t much to get people to actually spend money on things.
Sure you had people who absolutely HAD to have every cosmetic and hero RIGHT NOW!, and whined incessantly about paying for them but most people just waited and grabbed what they liked with shards and gold.
It really didn’t help that they were rather late to the party and threw gobs of money into trying to make the game an esport. That pretty much always fails.
With the MOBA heyday long over and all of them rapidly losing players, it’s never going to see a resurgence. None of them are, it’s the nature of gaming. A genre is hot and the best thing ever, then it’s replaced and fades into nichedom with a tiny fraction of it’s peak players. Hell, it’s what happened to RTSs. Like Warcraft.
Blizzard is usually good at riding or making the wave, this time they just jumped on late.
a lot of its downfall was mainly not balancing the damn game, QM/HL has been pretty much unplayable since Alpha, the match making is abysmal and always has been once again since alpha and the ranking system is probably the biggest downfall mainly because blizzard continues to use a stupid 1 v 1 MMR system for a damn 5 player game and basing everything off a freaking win regardless of how good you play, it makes for a punishing system for players that want to play ranked, its no fun to play a team game where your chance of moving up is all based on the abysmal match making and on top of that the de ranking is the biggest load of BS especially so early on the systems, that should be reserved for the upper tiers of ranked not at the bottom.
The other issues is there continued choices to take away what made the game different and keep pushing to be more like LOL and thats why i dont playmore.
Purely the arrogance of the developers. That’s all but enough.
Matchmaking
Reporting
MMR system
Competitive mode where you have to fill
Broken patches (QM, Season resets and so on)
Overpowered characters and basekits
Snowball design with lane change
Focus on lootboxes and design while the core of the game is broken
Questionable hero pool (70% assassins)
The list is endless and the community (I thread something as community opinion if I read about something more than 5 times here and on Reddit) was often right. Blizzard ignored the community and tried to solve problems their own way often introducing new and bigger problems. The best state this game had was 2017.
at least u know how to make perfect online game. gl competing HotS when u develop ur own.
right now we got different conditions on our hands. thanks to diablo bs the amount of changes best be kept limited due to inability to fix possible unwanted bug issues.
They refused to make matchmaking changes and then 2 years later when they actually did them there wasn’t a playerbase to support the system so they had to revert it in a week. I personally think that this was the biggest death sentence of this game especially since getting relatively trash players has always been so common
Nerfing/buffing heroes the Blizzard way. Decimating heroes that have been meta into a point where even their mains have just opted not to play them anymore because of how terrible they have been. Most buffs have had barely any effect on the heroes they’ve buffed as the buffs are usually lackluster either in power or usability especially since they have done it to only certain talents while some talents have been garbage for ages. There’s no reason to do simple wide-range crunches of numbers since that’s what makes a lot of talents bad except that they just don’t like that sort of design
It was a bit late on the market and the “Heroes of the storm” design was a failure overall as hardly anybody found it appealing.
That’s about it. The gameplay is much better than in other MOBAs as it has map variety, objectives and focuses on good rotations and siege rather than farming a lane and then visiting a shop. The heroes are usually automatically interesting since they’re well designed lore characters. The fighting is also quite fluid compared to the other MOBAs as you’re actually having a team fight instead of just a clash that’s over in under 5 seconds.
All they had to do was not to funk up the matchmaking or balance yet they managed to mess up both making it a pile of unappealing graveyard for Blizzard heroes.
and u remainin’ to tell us the story right. everytime somethin’ is losin’ popularity some pests rise the voices instead of movin’ on. if losin’ a twitch is such a big thin’ why the game is not shutted down yet? cuz community is still supportin’ it. thats somethin’ u know anyway - why else u come to cry here in the first place?
