Hyper Casual Hero?

Jim Raynor is the answer you’re looking for.

I thought this too

S76 is a very cookie cutter design

Release Raynor was the hyper casual hero, and that’s why he was also the tutorial hero. He was as simple and as passive to play as it could ever get.

Blizzard decided that level of almost entirely passive play was un-fit for the game and re-worked him. I’m pretty sure they made a statement about that too, so it’s very unlikely we’ll be getting another hero at that level (lbr we’re not getting another Hero ever again lol).

Here is an idea:

Mercy

She floats above the map like a spector, is not directly interactable, kinda like Medivh bird.

Players can right click to make her fly to an ally and latch on to them, healing all the while.

Left clicking will do the same, but give a damage boost.

She has no talents, and no ultimates. For her its just a game of healing the teammate with least health and amping the ones that do most damage.

Simple. Outside of a brief explanation, the learning curve is near zero. These players will have to learn little things about who deals what damage, but that is more fun to learn when you don’t have a character and death timer to deal with.

She operates a bit like Abathur, but without lane pushing capabilities or build options.

This character could be given to a non-gamer much more safely than the other easy classification heroes.

Oh my gosh that sounds so sweet! If my mother was still around I’d so be playing with her. She used to play Sonic and Mario with me when I was little so she would so be a gamer by this time if she were alive!

Hammer is about as brain dead as you can get as well. While I cannot say anything against other players, against the A.I you just need to keep your distance and just poke them to death with her while in siege mode.

So long as the player does not sit there and tank (pun intended) the bots they won’t die. An example being trying to get as close to mid-lane towers immediately to then start shooting them.
