KT is completely fine. This is a huge L2P issue but surely if people keep crying he will be nerffed because that’s how this game works now.
But he doesn’t need a rework, he doesn’t need a nerf at all.
Simple as that, deal with it.
If you’ve got problem with KT then you won’t climb, there are heroes which need rework like Tassadar but not KT.
All they could do is make Bombs a skill shot and that’s it, but even now when it’s on click range of it is so small that hes got to get absolutely out of position to put it on someone, unless you are so much out of position, then well…
Wanna see a hero that’s “OP” or “annoying to play against”??? have you ever played against a good Maiev?
Yes he doesn’t need a nerf but he’s going to get one anyway like malganis. Only a matter of time.
And when he does I’ll bump this thread to rub it in your face
That’s an apples to oranges comparison, since that is something that effects both teams that would be the equivalent of a map objective and more importantly it’s an element that both sides have to deal with and can easily be considered fun to many
Whereas even when dealing with people who can easily deal with him it’s still frustrating, the amount he forces an enemy team to dance especially if a single target spreads the damn thing
On top of that you could aruge that KT’s ability to noob stomp is the reason he’s not getting minor buff’s to help increase his pickrate in higher tiers all the more reason to shift around some power.
At mid/low ranks, is his main issue pyroblast burst and livin bombs?
Not the Flame strike right?
It’s not an apples to oranges comparison, you want the standard skill level to be lowered - rather than letting players pull themselves up to meet that standard, that’s what being compared here.
It’s frustrating to lose against any hero and you could make this same argument about a lot of heroes. For example - Nazeebo, it’s annoying to constantly dance around spiders and frogs.
Heroes have their strengths and weaknesses, players should learn how to deal with a heroes strengths and weaknesses.
As I’ve already said if you think that KT is frustrating to play against I’m curious what do you think about Garrosh/Anub/Maiev/Alarak/Junkrat?
Even diablo is not OP, he’s just frustrating to play against.
All you have to do is stay away from walls
Than again, Chromie got like 3 separate reworks because of “frustrating to play against”.
KT rework somewhere in the future is actually likely.
Maybe make Pyro channeled skillshot that explodes on first hero hit. Something like Hanzo’s Q.
Not sure how to change Living bomb. It is such a noob stomper ability.
Difference is that Chromie could snipe and 1 combo targets from very big range which was killing game experience for new players.
KT doesn’t do that
I’m not saying that he needs rework, just that he will be reworked noe day.
Btw, I like current KT and don’t feel threatened by him.
Yes I like KT too. Don’t really wanna see a rework. That’s why I hope the devs find a way to make him less frustrating by making the minimum number of changes possible.
Hence this thread asking for possible ideas.
Even from KT player point of view, it must be pretty annoying to never be able to play your hero in ranked until you get to diamond+
And in minor regions like SEA, diamond+ is often matched with golds in ranked so KT is banned anyway so he’s pretty much a permanently unplayable char in ranked on SEA
Making Pyroblast a skillshot would alone buff it without any compensations, or rather they’d have to lower its damage, because he can then E multiple people and hit them all with one Pyroblast.
Regarding Living Bombs, the only thing I personally find annoying is that death also triggers its explosion which can be very annoying when fighting around objective in Infernat Shrines. Other than that, I never faced any problems with this ability, there are 3 seconds of time to avoid spreading it. An indicator of its explosion radius doesn’t sound bad, but for now there’s enough indicator with the character glowing red! ![]()
Oh he is going to get smacked because people couldn’t care less to L2P and I hope he gets the Genji treatment.
he should be addressed as ‘sir’
This is probably the best way to equalize his power level at lower and higher levels.
Did you just assume KT’s gender!!!
I believe the answer is Prince Kael’thas Sunstrider, son of Anasterian Sunstrider, Royal line of Quel’thalas.
When there are a large number of people who don’t want to deal with [insert hero] that is often a sign that there is a problem. Maybe not a balance problem, but a problem nonetheless.
We saw this with garrosh. He wasn’t necessarially OP, but his kit was incredibly punishing to minor mistakes, and so punishing that even up to pro level Garrosh was picked a lot. He got a lot of bans and complaints because this was simply too frustrating to deal with. And thankfully, he got changed in such a way that he maintains his power level without being quite as oppressive.
When a hero is generating this many complaints, it might be a good idea to look into ways to make the hero less frustrating. Especially in the case of Kael who is extremely strong at low leagues, but balanced (maybe even a tiny bit weak) at the highest levels of play, it is not something that should go completely unaddressed.
The suggestion I like the most is showing the radius indicator for the explosion, as it makes it clear when bomb will spread vs when it will not. It both makes it clear when you have living bomb (since sometimes lower levels may not notice, especially if you have a heal over time on you), and gives a clear indication of how much you need to spread out. It doesn’t reduce his actual power level, it just means he is less powerful at levels where people don’t have as much awareness and get heavily punished because of that.
Afterwards, if it turns out he is underpreforming now he doesn’t cheese low ranks as hard, he can be buffed with less fear of turning him into the god of silver league.
Well I have to say. A good Kael is scary. Not for the livin bombs. You just spread and say sorry hoping it doesnt happen again. But the flame strikes and the waveclear he is putting. (im dia 1)
A good one can outmacro a game while gathering tons of regens for his shields. Especially on tomb.
