How many heroes

Honestly, level up to 400-500 and make sure every Hero is at least level 5.

  • You should know what 3 abilities each Hero has when you see them in your match.

  • You should know general talent builds (AA vs AoE, Q build vs W build, etc) when you see a Hero in your match.

  • You should know a few weaknesses and strengths that each Hero has when you see them in your match.

Your MMR will thank you for it.

I only use raynor, zuljin, anduin, malfurion, and deckard. Lili if somehow all those picks aren’t available since lili is face roll. 6 heroes is more than enough for ranked

Just being a tank main means you’ll get your role in the majority of matches

I think game knowledge will be what matters most. The reality is that your placements can put you anywhere. But if you play ranked too early the game will probably put you at Silver no matter what.

I would go into ranked when you have at least 8 heroes you’re comfortable with, and you know how every map works.

It also helps to know who counters your heroes, and who you counter.

There’ve been good answers already so I’ll just had one thing that hasn’t been covered.

There are some non-bruiser heroes who are good in solo lane. Some heroes are especially good vs bruisers.

Raynor
Fenix
Lunara
Gull Dan
Qhira

Can be really good in the solo lane, because bruisers generally have no way to deal with them. They are ranged heroes with sustain and good wave clear.

In Qhira’s case, she’s pretty much a bruiser killer. Especially on her AA build.

The system is supposed to place you in silver if you’ve never done ranked before. If you did team league or hero league that counted as ranked before

I wish smurfs were given the option to be placed anywhere between silver and the player’s true rank. This way a smurf streamer can start in plat and not destroy people from silver to gold, but also can choose silver as seen now
