Heroes of the Storm PTR Patch Notes - September 2, 2025

I’ve always thought Valeera needs more nerfs. I just now made the mistake of looking up your account on heroes profile. It only reinforced my stance. I play Zeratul very similarly in that it’s mostly in QM, and I can only wish I had a similar win rate.

yes please nerf this insanity

35% WR solo
80% in a 5 stack

I think she’s too good of an enabler. That’s all.
Don’t read into my complaints. I just don’t like Valeera and never have. Also, yes. I am just immaturely making excuses to not like her more.

if its any consolation. i suspect the change will do little for her. Q build is still going to be on top. all this does is make slice and dice a bit more consistent on enemies who are trying to walk away

Aren’t we all though?

She must really benefit from the communication. And the lack of healer, having aba and another melee assassin on her team too, while enemy team is 4 ranged assassins and murky.

From your comments I can tell you are considered a novice. Zeratul and Valeera has many counters for those who are skilled in the game.

And if you do not have a win rate above 55% as zeratul, forget about even having a competitive edge, it tells me you are not competent enough with your hero to even slightly tilt the games in your favor for a stealthed assasin that dominates in both uncoordinated quickmatch and co-ordinated ranked if played well. Zeratul is a stealthed assasin that is less punishing than Valeera if you make mistakes.

This is a skill issue that will be remedied with time and practice, so you don’t have to worry.

But it makes me take your comment about valeera needing nerfs… not so seriously.

wow
what a callous, mean spirited comment.

If anything, it was an honest and relatable one.

The fact that he is telling me he “wished he had a similar win rate” tells me he very likely does not enjoy games / or does not win most games as zeratul ( i would assume quick match or ranked) probably because he does not perform at the standard required* to swing games in his team’s favor.

He also mentions that he thought Valeera needed more nerfs and he “made the mistake of looking up… account on heroes profile… only reinforced his stance”.

This tells me 2 things:

  1. has no basic grasp on playing the character.
  2. He looks at another person’s Hots profile with what some would consider to be a higher than average win rate for a hero that has an average win rate of less than 50%, and then assumes that Hero is overpowered , without taking into consideration that it most likely takes extraordinary effort and practice to achieve an edge with said hero

This is not a judgement or an insult. This is a fact.

Now, tell me again, how my comment is* callous, and mean spirited?

I’m serious in that I want the nerfs, but I understand most people don’t think that—to the point of, reality is probably that she needs buffs.

Anyway, you took it right and replied appropriately. You addressed all the thoughts that were going through my head as I wrote that.

Maybe someday I will be able to be Zeratul vs 4 ranged assassins (As QM seems to think is the most needed team composition) and not get deleted instantly whenever I show my face.

Valeera is nothing more than brute force hero that is heavily reliant on a successful opener because she doesn’t enjoy a similar level of durability, cleave or evasiveness in comparison to other melee. Without her range increase (mini teleport) in stealth she would be completely unplayable, but at the same time this makes her moderately unpredictable and frustrating to play against.

Her stun is very short and her slow effect is a complete joke at only 20%. If you’re hunting 3v1 there’s nothing she brings to the table which any other hero including healers can’t do better.

As for Zeratul; much more mechanically demanding and I can agree that while for the first half of the game he is weak and mistakes can feel punishing, he is rewarding not only when playing offensive but also in context of avoiding damage so I would say he is leagues above Valeera just for being able to blink in and out across walls.

The undamaged state of armour should be 100% but I don’t know how many armour points every piece of armour should have.

You don’t need to brute force with Valeera or have an opener, a lot of her gameplay is literally about positioning, Valeera is definitely not carrying your team by engaging to make openings, but she is damn well going to do a lot more in reverse.

Playing Valeera more defensively and a denier makes her more impactful than making the setup herself.

She will still be good with a opener, ok, yeah. But people forget that a teleporting assassin with 2.5 silence against divers is kinda nuts especially if she’s just zoning na entire area and is good positioning.
