Your words straight to the Dev’s ears, EFB, is the brawl I enjoyed playing the most.
Can i get you to do one brawl with me now?
Only if they bring back stitches hook though
inb4 brawl queues max for Escape from Braxis, and then bottom out two weeks later for the all Hammer mirror.
the Spell Power talent was gigabuffed on the same tier
you know I’ve never played EFB
Dislike Auriel level one nerf. At least reduce the damage it does to minions or something. The honestly need to make the quest actually worth taking, because I can never see a reason to take it over the other 2.
Always hoped they’d buff that level 7 like that!
16 nerf disappointing but warranted, though not THAT hard.
Just checked, it’s in addition!
Johanna
Base
- Shield Glare [E]
- Mana cost increased from 45 to 55.
That was a nice try Devs. But increasing the mana cost won’t make players save it for when they need the blind. They are still going to spam it
Auriel
Talents
- Level 1
- Searing Light
- Now only deals damage to enemy Heroes.
It’s still better than the other options. Which is why it was favored.
Tracer
Talents
- Level 4
- Is That a Health Pack?!
- Healing from Regen Globes increased from 10% to 15% of maximum Health.
- Pulse Generator
- Healing reduced from 18% to 12%.
12% healing is still better than trying to find a regen globe during a teamfight. It’s not picked because it’s OP, but because the other options are bad.
- Level 13
- Jumper
- Cooldown refresh reduced from 150% to 100%.
- Shield reduced from 6.5% to 6%.
Look, if you put talents on the same tier that do the same thing (improve mobility in this case) one of them is always going to be better than the other, and we’ll only pick that.
If this gets too weak, then we’ll only pick “Untouchable” (Y’know, if people played Tracer)
Did Someone consider Tracer too strong?
- You Want Axe? [Trait]
- Basic Attack damage increased from 94 to 118.
- Bonus from quest completion reduced from 1 to .25.
You get 24 extra damage per AA. You’re stronger earlier. I don’t see it as a nerf.
- Level 13
- Blessed Hammer
- Damage reduced from 74 to 65.
People don’t pick this on Johanna because the damage is insane. We pick it because the other options are bad (There’s a trend here)
- NEW: Brawl Mode added! Brawls will rotate on the 1st and 15th of every month.
Thank you so much! The only thing that would be better than this news would be telling us you’re bringing back Escape from Braxis.
And I thought you were cool
Idk where you got that impression dude, I’m a [redacted] loser
Brawls being put back into the games is a nice addon.
Seems like they are trying a lot of things to make the game fun as opposed to serious as an esport contender. I like that.
Changing the numbers is a minimum of efforts. Just the appearance of work. The mechanics need to be changed.
While I’ve seen this sentiment many times over on Reddit, I’ve yet to see it here until your post.
There have been many people posting their concerns that brawls will split the small playerbase further and/or, some specific brawls won’t attract enough interested players to keep queue times reasonable after the first day or so.
Personally, I’m happy (and a bit shocked) that brawls are returning, I do have concerns how popular some of them will be, and I hope they rotate them often. There is also the possibility that some former players will return to check brawls out, so overall I think it’s a positive. I’d be interested in reading your thoughts on the matter.
You’re back to being cool now
I think it’d be better to unlock brawl map into custom games over time. A number of brawls were token gimmicks to make a slight change for a faster game to mill out a weekly quota.
Only a handful of brawls are interesting enough to keep around, and while nastalgia and curiosity may peak for a handful of games, an automated matching is probably going to reinforce “ded game” compared to lobby invites from a custom game.
Granted, select players have been coming back to HotS and may be fed up with bad QM, long ranked, and don’t bother with aram, so perhaps brawls avoid some of the unwanted mess of the other modes that have their dedicated “mains” and “trolls”
Brawls may end up filling spots with Ai players so quick (think expanded queue wait) that a match might not wait for 4 players to fill.
Please buff Uther, hes so weak , i say it as grandmaster uther main he feels bad to play, make silver touch reduce his q cd, or something hes in a very bad spot for a long time now
I don’t care if it’s a buff or a nerf. I ENJOYED being weak early and earing my power throughout a match. Now it takes 20 AA’s for 1 damage. Why not delete his passive. LIKE DAMN.
I don’t know why people call this Zul’jin change a nerf, he gets the equivalent +24 from 120 stacks of damage that scales by 4% every level, by level 20 he would basically have +42.6 (213) and this doesn’t consider the additive from his base.
Overall he has a 10% in damage increase from everything he does by late game, there is one thing for sure is that recklessness builds got slightly nerfed where you won’t get that same vibe with 700+ stacks aka “enemy team 0 perception” game.
IMO, unexpected buff tbh, I hope people wake up on Q build Zul’jin because that crap wrecks teams even better now.
That´s quite a statement, i would have guessed it the be last or even never due to being so different from regular play.
Let´s see though, i sure don´t mind being wrong here.
Interesting changes, although I don’t agree with all of the changes.
For Johanna, I would have moved the talent “Double Blind” from 1 to 7. With Zul’jin, I would have suggested reducing Taz’dingo’s duration from 4 seconds to 3 seconds instead of increasing the cooldown.
The surprising thing about the patch is that Brawl is coming back right at the beginning of 2025. If I’m not mistaken, it was removed at the time because it took up too many resources.
2025 could mean more for Hots, but be careful!
But in itself it is positive that we are currently receiving new patches every month, which is nice and shows that the people in the background are interested. I remain optimistic and look forward to what is to come!
Well you should be happy then. You get to enjoy stacking your quest.
I always felt that was the point of Brawls personally.
That’s what I was wondering too, and why I thought brawls were the last thing that could ever come back.
But given that they told us brawls were too time consuming when they had a full team, how are they able to bring them back with a smaller team?
Dec 13, 2018 HotS announced HGC was not returning and the team was going to be broken up into other blizzard games.
Cloaken left April 19, 2019
Brawls were removed Sept 8, 2020.
Team 1 ‘reorganization’ notification Oct. 15, 2020 which lead to the eventual dissolution of the ‘classic games’ team that took over HotS after the 2018 announcement.
So HotS wasn’t at a ‘full team’ when they stopped Brawls.
Last year, Blizzard got a new President, Johanna Faries, canceled their unnamed survival game, and had a ‘new team’ for Blizzard IPs formed from King staff. So somewhere between all those changes, HotS got season ptr/live changes that look to be keeping this new cadence.
