Grubby's tier list with explanation:

I think he needs to learn how to say things in lesser words. I also have the habit of speaking to much but I reduced it to a few sentences

I’m opposite to Xenterex - I speak short in most cases.

It seems like his tier list is more based off of how often can a hero be countered or how flexible they are even if they are.

If I get it right he could but choose and enjoys not to.
I do the same in my native.

Na, I like Xenterex the way he is. Even If I disagree with him I appreciate his walls of text.
I can do the same (write a lot) but in Spanish, I just lack the knowlegde to do that in English but I do the same.

Master in HOTS is like Silver in LoL, really doesn’t mean much. When I watch him play I see so many obvious blunders, that’s why I would take his opinions with a grain of salt, because some obvious things he is clearly unaware of

There are a number of points people seem to have missed in that video, which I think are relevant.

  • This is strictly for solo queuing in Diamond/low Master. Because of this, heroes that aren’t as team reliant are more highly valued than those that require coordination. He has a completely different tier list for Silver, for example.
  • He acknowledges that comfort picks are more important than meta picks. While Rexxar is by far the best on maps like Dragonshire, if you are better at Sonya, ban Rexxar and draft Sonya rather than play a bad Rexxar game.
  • Win rates do not tell the entire story, although they can give hints as to what is objectively strong, they are still subject to bias and interpretation. For example, Artanis has a much higher win rate in SL than Blaze, but that doesn’t mean he is better in the solo lane.

There is more, but I think people should listen to it themselves, rather than just take my word for it.

Same genre but different games, you can’t compare that.

speaking of these playing in Storm League that one of tier lists that I would set out soon. starting next week Rotation I explained to the Brawl mode. plans for Ranked is still here.

He selected ā€œRole Rankā€ instead of ā€œPlayer Rankā€. There’s a difference. It shows when you see Illidan, Murky and Gazlowe at a great place (56%) from the role rank on dia+.
And, Yrel at the bottom (50%).
He’s contradicting himself with these cherry picks.

Care to share your LoL and HotS ranks then?

Same here with Zagara. I thought she was a powerful lane bully but I guess times have changed.

Most of his tier list is 90% spot on! However there’s a few things I disagree with and might have to have a chat with Grubby about later on. Johanna, Alarak, Sylvanas and KT should be in the S list! While Mura and Blaze in the A list!

Alarak is extremely OP. He’s practically one of the only few heroes that can be impossible to kill and counter if played well and positioned well. Sylvanas has high wave clear, poke, range damage, escape and good set up for obj pushing. KT is the mage of mages and Johanna is the generic tank of tanks that each tick the box of what their roles need and above. Mura almost fits into the S tier but having no unstoppable and no self-survive clutch mechanic makes a difference between him and Jo. Blaze is just disgusting when played right.

Other then that, it’s true what he says about trying to play in mid ranks. I play Tyrande well, but in the chaos called qm, there’s no coordination or set ups.

Explain how, how the hero with a 12 secs escape, that’s also his set up, with poor movility, poor HP and poor self heal can be almost impossible to kill.
Also, with that logic, any hero is almost impossible to kill when is well positioned.

Murky and Gawzolwe ar enot Tier S? This tier list is very inacurate.

Dewd you’re an Alarak player, you should know his potential if talented right. He doesn’t have high HP but he’s beefy where he can last long enough in fights. His lightning cast or AA’s can give a fair bit of hp from heroes as well. His abilities and damage can zone away dives or kill off divers and he has insane poke.

In draft you rarely hear players talking about countering Alarak. It’s because he’s in a niche where you can’t really counter him since his damage equally comes from his AA’s or abilities, unless Alarak is played badly or has a bad team. For example you recruit counters vs. most other heroes such as getting blinds to counter ranged AA, or divers to counter squishes, roots and stuns to stop melee assassins who rely on dive from diving and % hp counter for tanks. You could say blinds might counter him, but he can rely on his abilities to set up for the team, and vice-versa. His mobility is like any other hero to an extent with good escapes or protect.

I’m not saying he’s invincible, that was an exhagerration on my part, but he’s definitely S tier if played well. I fear a good Alarak player next to Rexxar and Imperius. If I vs. KT or most of the other of the S list mentioned on Grubbys list, I know I can recruit a counter or out play them etc.

He’s a high skill hero that correlates as close as possible with your skill. He’s almost like a KTZ where if you miss and blow all your abilities, then you’re useless for a few seconds, except he has more survavability and AA’s to continue damage.

Alarak power cames from team work, he depends a lot in the rest of the team and alone he’s rather mediocre.
He is actually easy to kill and without help he dies quicky, that’s why you often see Alaraks leaving the battle immediatelly after things are going wrong.
Alarak has one major counter called Abathur. Then he has a lot of soft-counters like Medivh, ETC or Anub. Also, he is weak in general against AA heroes and poke as well as dive heroes and bruisers in general.
Alarak is an strong pick thanks to his kit that is almost a support. He’s strong if the team is strong. If your tank is outplayed you are pretty much done.
Another weakness is that he requires the upper hand in order to be intimidating, if you are losing he lose a lot of potential.
Don’t get me wrong, Alarak is a good A+ hero but the nerffs affected him and he’s no longer the unstoppable beast he used to be, it’s just that there is this general misconception that Alarak is a safe pick but the enemy can actually counter Alarak if he is first picked.
A strong hero but definitelly not a must to pick or first pick. I would say he is a good pick after the enemy already pick their main assassin or main tank.

why didn’t someone just make a list. i’m not watching a long boring video

each player has their own meta based on personal experience.

Well being good at a video game is useless and doesn’t mean much anyway.
