For those anticipating the D.Va rework

Quite often reworks come with a brand new skin. Will D.Va be getting one too? Is it gonna be schoolgirl to go with Kerrigan, Leoric and Orphea?

Correct me if I got this wrong but one and a half years I think. So around 18 months. Because first developer mentions of Dva rework on reddit come from January and February 2019.

Depends, the Micro Missiles ability was promised for 2018 summer, IIRC. People immediately asked when would D.va receive the same ability as her reworked self had in Overwatch. Around 2017 winter it was said it’d take at least till the next summer. No outright rework promises but adding a new ability would smell pretty much like that.
News about her rework only really surfaced in 2019 though, indeed. But prior to that we were sorts of promised Micro Missiles already.

Thanks. Micro Missiles is her new heroic?

Appears to be according to AMA and prior there had been hints. Not in late 2017, though. We just knew that D.va may get micro missiles sometime in the future.

But yes, based on AMA the Micro Missiles does the following:
Activate to rapidly shoot 12 missiles in succession which either explode on impact or at the end of its range, dealing small AoE damage. The ability has two charges and modest cooldown (so it’s more like a basic ability in management). Level 20 upgrade adds a third charge and each missiles that hit a hero reduces the ability’s cooldown, likely leading to near-infinite chains of micro missiles.

Bunny Hop gets lower CD but also nerfed as it has less AoE, no slow on hit and instead every fourth consecutive hit deals extra damage and stuns likely leading you to easily repeat this process for the next four hits and so forth. No info on its level 20 upgrade.

Well then you’ll have a stale game pretty quickly.

Not necesarily. The game can remain interesting even if it doesn’t change. At least not too much. The MOBA genere is usually dynamic and ever changing, but the point is not to change way too much. So if someone comes back after a long time and finds out this is not the game he used to play anymore! If the changes are too drastic it may even seem that perhaps the original game design wasn’t as good as it should have been.
But I digress. I just hope the changes will be good, or I will add yet another disappointment to my list.

There was a thread about someone coming back to this game and failing miserably because of heroes he didn’t know existed was brought into the game while he was gone. That’s what patch notes and spell descriptions are for.

Agreed. Though Mei has been far from disappointing imo.

Patch notes are useful when you only need to read a few of them. I have completely lost track of what it’s like to play the current DOTA2 for example. I would need to read too many things including all the hero and spell descriptions to get up to date, maybe even replay the tutorials and such just to make up for the years of lost practice as well.
And frankly it’s a waste of time, I’ll stay here with HOTS as long as I can and as long as it’s fun and good.
