No but nova can be potg
I can tell you’ve never played zul properly before then. You don’t need to stack his quest every second of the game. he can still go soak empty lanes, and clear waves decently to get back into the fight. You are just doing something wrong.
It’s very possible. I’ve recently picked up Zul and I have been enjoying him. I just find it difficult to get stacks when a majority of the time I’m the one soaking. Imagine if Butcher only got stacks from Heroes, he’d have the same problem.
Since you seem to be the expert, do you have any vids or guides to stacking properly with Zul?
he is one of the ARAM gods, if there is a zul on the other team you know it’ll be a tough game,
huge damage, long range, fast movement speed, and even a self heal!
he’s the devil incarnate.
There is no “guide” to stacking, you simply have to know when you are free to auto attack and when not to. Melees and tanks are the people you are happiest to see. When they’ve exhausted their cooldowns, press your 1 key to get as many autos as you can off of them. If you still have trouble stacking, just go the W quest at 16 and learn how to get as many people in the center of the two cleaves as possible. And remember that once it’s completed it does it twice, at opposite ends of the circle.
Don’t hyper engage ranged assasins that can kite you without a plan. Don’t use Q on minion waves unless they are all lined up as you will start to two shot them mid game. Use D when you are completely safe from aggression so that you can do extra damage then heal back up with your regeneration spell. You can also use to race on immortals on battlefield of eternity, and use right after you cast tazdingo.
The problem with Zul’jin isn’t that he can stack infinitely, it’s that he’s got more or less the same playstyle regardless of what your priorities are. Even if you’re going Mage Build, you’re still pretty heavily focused on Basic Attacks.
Thanks for the info. Although, I already do a majority of what you suggest. W build is my go to build, currently. You still don’t address the problems of soaking vs. stacking. What happens when you’re faced with soaking an empty lane or stacking? Soaking should always be the priority, but that just pushes back completing You Want Axe? Even Wrong Place Wrong Time doesn’t help if there’s no one to W.
He’s a little on the weak side because of his lack of mobility, but building his Q makes him deal an insane amount of damage. Not to mention Guillotine is the most satisfying ult in the game.
The only change I’d recommend is more straight up damage: make his strength stronger while leaving his weaknesses the same or making them worse to compensate. And that’s IF I had to make a change. I am not totally sold that he does need a change because now that I’m thinking about it I’ve just moved onto other ranged assassins like Fenix and Raynor who are just way safer and therefore deal out more damage overall.
You always soak first, you do not need to be stacking all game.
I don’t disagree, but you do need to complete You Want Axe? as fast as possible. Soaking doesn’t help that. Now what?
Who said you need to complete it ASAP? It’s completed by 10 -13 most of the time. You can’t win the game if you lost to pve. You only need to complete the second part for w quest anwyay and that has the talent at 16 to help you, which you should have compelted by now.
Zul’jin is fine albeit not the go to DPS in most cases. He requires certain playstyles to be effective and his basic attacks can feel a bit weak if you’re used to play heroes with effective burst damage but it’s mostly because opponents avoid being at his basic attack range at all costs. You usually zone your opponents purely by existing which can make him feel a bit underwhelming
As with almost any quest, your goal is to complete it ASAP…Otherwise, you’re effectively hamstringing yourself by at least 50%, in Zul’s case. Even more so if you’re going Arcanite Axes.
You still haven’t given any good reasons against Zul gaining stacks from minions. If other, similar quests do it, Zul’s should too. A quest that contradicts a main aspect of the game (Soaking) needs to be re-investigated/re-imagined.
I pay him as a mage with w talents and gilutin
