The game would be better without a matchmaking system. If you’re in gold 5, face gold 5- in demotions face silver 1, in promotion face gold 4. None of this ‘oh you’re both gold 5 but you have a higher MMR so you will get garbage teammates’ BS.
Regardless of what division I’m in, and I’ve gone bronze to gold and back and back again. There’s clearly players that vastly outclass everyone else in the match, while there’s also always a player or two that clearly are vastly outclassed. I’m talking a colossal skill difference that doesn’t make any sense in a decent ‘matchmaker’.
One thing is obvious- Blizz’s matchmaker doesn’t work. Unless you plan to do something to improve it, maybe it’s time to just take it out.
