That sounds like a small number, but if 10K non-ranked games are played daily, it should happen 4 times a day.
In ranked, you have a 0.0013% chance to get the same map three times in a row. So it would happen 13 times a day with 10K games.
The amount of total players doesn’t change the odds of getting the same map repeated times–unless there are players who fall into the “cursed hollow” side of things.
Even with 4 maps in a row, with 10K games a day, it should happen to “.3” a person. Or rather, if 10K games are played outside of ranked, about every 3 days, one person should get the same map 4 times in a row.
Err, It just struck me that I didn’t keep good track of the decimal places properly when doing the percentages, so I might be off by two magnitudes in how often these events occur… but it doesn’t change the fact that there being more players has nothing to do with your odds of getting the same map multiple times in a row.
