Elo was made such that players were fairly matched. Also, it was created such that a player could only challenge player at or above their own ELO. It’s not a random matching making system and it’s arguably not a ladder competition. Chess players will engage in tournaments (the actual competitive endeavor) and then have their Elo adjusted based on their standings in that tournament. This provides players with a way of determining who would be a reasonable player to play against. Also, chess is not a team game.
This is NOT what’s happening with Storm League.
If you play 1 game a week, how many weeks will it take for you to advance your MMR such that you league ranking will change with a positive win rate of 51%?
