I doubt there will ever be a mode that will meet your expectations. Malthael is rarely going to be easily playable in a any QM no matter what the rules are. You might end up in a game where the enemy team has so much CC that just being Malthael is a liability. Even though there is a tank on the other side.
Though Malth isn’t so good at fighting tanks anymore. If you’re against a double tank comp, which he’s supposed to be good against. All you can do is throw your E on cooldown, because if you go into melee range you’re dead. And that amount of damage is easily healed.
And his damage has been nerfed enough that even taking camps take forever now.
There has to be a happy medium. I dont like 15 second cat herding queues or the 15 minute “balanced” queue either. I think it should expand the search after 3-5 minutes. Not 30 seconds
Well kudos to anyone’s games that actually improved during the QM changes. For myself and the people on my Friend’s list was quit the opposite. Waiting a really long time for reaaaalllllyyy bad matches. Sure they balanced comps, but the MMR spread was so unbearably all over the place that the games during these periods were some of the worse I had ever played.
Maybe it improved for tank / support players (or those willing) and was problematic for dps.
Edit: I mean, while playing tank, you were almost guaranteed a support (for me, that’s a huge thing). As a support, you mostly had a tank. As a damage dealer however, after waiting a lot, you’d still have roughly the same composition chances as today and before, except some switching to the requested roles and having to wait balancing things a bit as well.
Having 0% winrate on Cassia, 8% on Varian and 85% on Nova is a testament to the success of the non-trinity games.
Meh I can’t say it did as I normally played as Tank/Healer during that time, plenty of games where potato dps getting beat by the support. Like I said, apparently my experience was different that some of these others, in my experience that strict QM rule period was terrible for me. Had it stayed I’d likely be doing everything but QM.
The game is out for a long time now, and TL/HL were never dominant mode. QM was, and still is, by far the most popular mode. Blizz gave the numbers.
Without the HGC, I doubt it’s going to change, even with community driven tournaments.
I believe nothing can swing popularity in TL/HL favor.
QM short queue vs good comp (tank, healer, r. dps) is everlasting battle with no solution. There will always be people that prefer one over another.
Personally I’d rather wait 10 mins for a good comp than 1 min for a comp without healer. But I also understand the others who don’t.
I’m a casual player who plays occasionally in group with friends and like to play specific Heroes.
Personally, I had excessively long wait times for games with comps as bad if not worse than before the patch (ie three healers and two assassins vs an all-assassin team). While having a standard team comp was nice when it happened, the bad games and wait times outweighed the good for me.
No, meta would be requesting a top of the line healer and tank each match. I’m not asking for top picks, I’m asking for Blizzard to stick to their guns. Go hide under a bridge or something.
I do not understand why people still have a problem with a Quick match I always create a group with rnd loby and QM games are good… (sure low players lvl skip)
There is a difference between arguing and making assumptions and unfounded claims. Right… you don’t know the difference between arguing and pulling non factual claim. I guess that is your theory that if you keep arguing you continue to use NON FACTUAL CLAIMS (FOR EXAMPLE) I.E. The meta which is a tank and a healer on your team, because if you advocating that you are NON Meta that means No healer or tank.

And another point Casual players are QM players. I play Ranked, which isn’t Casual.
Therefore while I provide Facts, and evidence and use COMMON Sense while making an argument, while you dribble out non sense, and nonfactual claims, you come out looking NOT very smart. For Example stating I’m a casual Player, as in I would prefer Quick Match games, this is the exact opposite. I prefer Meta team comp, I prefer a tank and a healer on my team, I prefer to actually play the REAL GAME, you know where you use strategy and Draft a team and try and do counter play and not just rely on RNG to provide me with x healer or x tank.
Facts META Team COMP is having a HEALER and A TANK, this is what you are demanding BLIZZ to give you in your QM games, instead of just going to UNRANKED or RANKED play you state you don’t want that because you are OFF META player. This make zero sense because you are DEMANDING IN QM PLAY META TEAM comps you ask for a range dealer, a Healer and a tank? Why on earth do you ask to PLAY NON META put request and demand a TEAM META COMP???

I agree. It was a huge mistake. For a short period of time, it was fantastic though. I hope they plan to bring it back. Have they commented on that one way or the other?
I understand you’re throwing a temper tantrum because someone else has a different opinion than you, and you’re posturing your own opinions as facts, and I shouldn’t take such a child seriously, but you did say one thing I want because I guess I haven’t clarified it yet.
I don’t like unranked, and I don’t care for it. I want to pick a hero and go into a game without having to worry about the tedium of a draft and worry about picking and counter picking. I also want that quick match to be functional and allow every hero to at least have some functionality of a theoretically viable match. It’s not fun to play a game as tracer without a healer, so on and so forth. If I wanted total chaos, I’d play brawl.
Btw, if you only play ranked, why… do you care… other than being a child and throwing a tantrum because of a change that doesn’t affect you in the slightest?
I love that there are literally so many players queuing up as specialists that you can’t get a game without 2 or 3 on your team, but that this is somehow Blizzards fault for not making those players not queue up as those heroes in QM, the mode that allows everyone to queue up as whatever they want and still get into a game Quickly rather than waiting all day for just the right comp.
