Are you questioning him about this happening on NA or just this happening in general? Cause, as mentioned by other people, this can indeed happen. Forgot if this was on NA or Asia for me (this was several years ago though).
Doubt it’s him. He likely just posted it as proof (that it does happen), not his personal case.
He plays on ANZ region on NA server if I’m not mistaken (or is it ANZ server on NA region). I can see him having AIs in his ARAM games. OP called him out for lying, he simply refuted that part.
It’s not my screenshot. Seems like you are in an upset state of mind if you can’t figure out that is a random Reddit link. There are countless other people who have experienced it.
Asia server and Singapore have AI arams all the time. OP is just clueless or applying his personal anecdote to all other players. Playing those ARAMS sucks big time because you have to ping all the bots to follow when they feed and die.
I do play on US, but the times when I had AI arams on US was when I played at 5-6 in the morning. That is usually not the case, I usually play at around 2-6PM when it has humans.
At that time, you are unlikely to get AI arams. The worst times are in the early morning.
In a perfect, HotS-Supported World, I would say hell yes.
But the game for the last few years haven’t had enough players for a new gamemode. The playerbase is too small.
Current ARAM has no mmr, so the queues are fast. With an mmr, it would be slower. With ranks, it would be even slower, as few ppl want to get ranks as proven multiple times. It increases competitiveness, which would raise toxicity and narrow down what ppl play and how because “meta”.
The best option is, to give an Aram map to the Ranked map pool… but I see how that would anger SL players and increase dissatisfaction.
I suggest the person just log onto the ANZ server and see for themselves. ANZ and the SG servers are so dead I’m confident they will have AI added to ARAM no matter when they login.
I have had it happen to me a couple times outside peak hours on NA. Not a lot of times, but a few. What’s your point? Nothing he said is untrue. It does happen on all servers out of peak times.
The issue is much larger on small regions, that is already established. Nothing that can be fixed at this point in the development arch of HotS though.
But a ranked mode for something that can by design have AI bots in it is a silly suggestion.
Hoku, time to get off the high horse. “Calling BS” is a challenge for proof, which was produced. I admit that it appears AI in ARAM is real. Full stop. Nonetheless, using the least populated/viable server argument ISa BS excuse to hamstring the choices of healthier player bases. My point stands–ranked ARAM is something the community should express its desire for. If it’s not viable on other servers, so be it!
The argument that “luck” (a.k.a., probability) is inherently at odds with a ranked/ladder system has never been convincing. Just look at the world series of poker as an example–poker is inherently a “luck” + skill game, yet it works beautifully.
So me and a friend was chatiing about our Ranked ARAM games we had and it reminded me of this topic. If anyone want to see what it would be like to have the aram map’s opened to all heroes just find 10 ppl for customs and turn on the draft mode on the aram map options.

It wouldn’t be random but again it would let ppl see TLV, hammer and Abby in the one lane which you can’t see in the real mode
