So the Nexus’s resident Dragonqueen will finally be joined by Deathwing in the form of a melee/ranged Bruiser. With three more Dragon Aspects and four potential roles to go (and assuming they won’t share any), what do you guys think would be the best fit for each and what an all-dragon comp would ideally look like when the rest of the Aspects eventually catch up with the Life-Binder and the Destroyer in the Nexus?
Where we’re at (and what I imagined): Alexstrasza - Healer ( Healer ) Deathwing - Bruiser (T̶a̶n̶k̶ ) Malygos - (Ranged Assassin) Ysera - (Support) Nozdormu - (B̶r̶u̶i̶s̶e̶r̶ Tank?)
This sounds right to me. I imagined DW would be a tank (you know, the whole earth aspect thing), but I suppose this makes more sense given what players like.
Well, it’s Deathwing, not Neltharion. He is so torn apart with Corruption that he is essentially a different person now.
With that in mind, Bruiser is a logical choice for me. He shouldn’t just have a ton of health and peel for his team (you know, the people he considers to be worthless mortals?) but should have good damage too. His kit reflects that, and with the wind-ups it isn’t overpowered either. Love it!
Seems good. I would assume the Aspect of Magic would be a mage of some kind.
Either Support or Healer, I agree.
Tricky. Nozdormu’s theme would be messing with time, but we already have Chromie for that (who is actually part of Nozdormu’s Dragonflight if I recall correctly?). They’d need to implement him in a way that allowed him to be unique from Chromie. Since Chromie is a Ranged Assassin and mage, perhaps he should be a ranged/melee Tank to set them apart. He could use his power to peel, engage and protect himself/his allies.
Overall, I’d be SUPER hyped to see all the Aspects in-game! Malygos or Ysera would be my first choice to add first.
I mean I know she is a Dragon obviously. The Gnome form is just an appearance she wears for… well, who knows, really. Most people don’t count her as being “the first Dragon in the Nexus” though, since she doesnt appear as one.
You’re not wrong, but he’s still empowered by the titans. As far as powers and aesthetics go, he’s still lava/earth themed. Even his old god corruption isn’t typical of old god minions.
I agree; it fits his character and fantasy nicely. Not disappointed in the least.
Which brings us to
I can totally see him as a CC-heavy Support-y sort of Tank. With a time themed spin on damage mitigation like a permanent anti-AA passive trait similar to Imposing Presence, and buffs/debuffs (haste, slows, CD reductions, etc.).
Perhaps even something like the Diablo III Wizard’s Slow Time ability, where he’d place large ‘domes’ or over areas that slow down incoming projectiles such as Junkrat’s grenades or Hanzo’s arrows.
Chromie’s got nothing on the Aspect of Time, so the devs can go nuts with his kit and cover entirely new and original stuff.
I vote Chromie gets a full dragon skin to make the all dragon team possible sooner. She’d be super small though… almost makes me wish for a larger hitbox model with a correspondingly higher HP. Almost, but not really.
