Sorry, I wasn’t clear. I know rank stacking is simply what the rules allow players to do now. Sami mentioned a GM that also does win trading to maintain their rank, that’s the cheating aspect, I find it hard to understand why anyone would even be bothered to do so in the first place, let alone in 2023.
Same reason why some people buy burner accounts on E-Bay they use to derank to bronze. Some people just cant be helped.
I have seen these players. Perhaps you’re right, the fact that I can only understand the motivations in an abstract sense of those who cheat at Hots, or use dozens of accounts just to troll on, is maybe for the best.
There are some players who have been making troll accounts since launch and are still doing so, boggles the mind.

Yeah, I know, I just meant that it’s still not really cheating, but exploiting. There’s a difference between the two.
They aren’t really doing anything to the game to get an advantage, just using its own system. Cheating would be changing something in the game or using hacks etc.
