Your Hero can only take 1 dmg at a time

I agree it’s annoying, especially if a random Runes gives you this, but I wouldn’t say it’s overpowered. Just a real strong card. If this card is a problem to you, then what about Cariel?

You can destroy cariel’s weapon, I run a Rustrot Viper in 2 of my decks

cariel is easy to counter becasue you can run viper, problem solved. If you play a lot of cariel using apladins this is what you do

The problem with solid alibi is that it;s not only this card.

You get frozen by their loctions and flurry for zero mana and dawngrasp freezes your entire board if needed, then 3 mana 2/3 draw a card get 2 minions that freeze, 2/3 that gives you hero power that freezes etc, means that between the board freezes and solid alibis there can be very often 4+ turns in which you can’t do anything to the mage

Oh your minions can attack now? Guess what solid alibi, oh solid alibi ran out now it’s dawngraps time etc…

fun and interactive way to play

But this freeze-style gameplay is old and mage was known for this since the beginning. It is annoying sure, but is it overpowered? I doubt it.

The only problem cards for me are the manacheat cards like Balinda, because there is no way to play around this early and on top of that you get to deal with high cost spells early.

well if there were some options to counter feeze other than silence

Why counter? Board freeze only stalls, but don’t win you the game. Damage from hand or cards like Runes win you the game and here is where the problem is.

yes freeze stalls while mage kills you with their hero power or dmg from hand exactly while you can’t do nothing if you don’t have healing.

tahts why a mechanic to counter freeze is needed. If reeze is a mechanic to counter board there should be a countermechanic to freeze.

You already offered a counter. :stuck_out_tongue:

another option is burn from hand (spells, weapons) or get more armor/healing.

not every deck ants to play silence

btw why frost dk is so good against board decks, becaus ethey freeze your board and hit you in the face for free.

this just creat nongames, either you finish them off before they can pull their freeze + burn combo to finish kill you or you die.

Freeze mage has been even stronger in the past. Right now it is strong only because of the new location. If you run the card that destroys an enemy location it can counter freeze mage. My biggest issue is just with Solid Alibi as I said in the post

nobody runs that card becasue it’s ueless against decks that don’t run any location which are a lot in the meta.

so this tech is just terrible

Tomorrow the new patch drops which means every single DK player will be running the new op location, evolve shaman runs location and will be tier 1 op and freeze mage will still use their location. The card will be a good counter as of tomorrow

i’m european for me it’s today, and since im gonna play pure dragon pally with the ne card I dount I’ll put those in my deck :x

Oh and warlock will use location still and imp will be a tier 1 deck. The location tech card will be in basically every deck besides pure paly

agaonst imp lock this card is too slow, you will counter location with a 4 mana 4/4 on turn 4 while their board is already filled with imps and one of them has probably gotten the location buff? Gratz nex turn you die

this card is just too slow to be taken seriously

So I just faced this annoying a** deck that plays 4 solids and 2 quests… anyone knows the deck? can’t seem to find it. would like to add it to the most hated decks list.

Just played against a mage who put me in a 10 turn rotation with said card it was brutal and yes should be one per deck and not able to benefit from recasting previous spell type cards that you played this game.

Astalor was basically printed to be a hard counter to solid alibi. If you aren’t running him, that probably explains your bad experience. Just clear board every turn, and have it ready set up for a finishing kill with final form astalor, shouldn’t be too hard for any decent deck.

Prior to astalor existing, yes this was effectively a proactive ice-block, very annoying, but really shouldn’t be much of an obstacle these days.
