Year of the Pegasus Core Set Update

I did forget the discovered card is a temporary copy. I guess that balances it out, but still; these feel a little wrong to me if they are just staying forever. We’ll get used to them I figure but feels a bit like unconditional Zephyrs-ish

I’m very interested to play around with Ship’s Chireugeon in my priest deck. It’s the perfect 1 drop for my overheal list I’m curating. I’ve been designing a deck with hedanis as a finisher and it’s coming together. Crimson clergy, funnel cakes, fan club, pip the potent, and thirsty drifter are gonna love the chirugeon. The 1 drop package looks great. And hidden gem will also appreciate the buffs.

I for one will miss bloodlust. Doomhammer I’ll miss too even though the 6 mana weapon has sort of replaced it. Kalimos is fun but probably way too irrelevant without the other good elemental cards from that era like blazecaller and the 4/5 that discovered a new one and even then they would be too slow for modern hearthstone.

On the other hand seeing stonehill defender, slyvanas, mindcontrol tech, and leeroy shows they haven’t learned a thing about why everything but stonehill roated out.

I hated all the druid cards coming back.
I hated kill command and hunters getting another 10 damage for 6 mana (sure conditional but who cares) is just what they needed
Also just what we needed was res priest with obsidian statue
Flik can go sap itself right back to wild with sap
Doomguard is just what sludgelock needed

Looks like everything that made hearthstone annoying 3 years ago is making a comeback.

I know it’s totally vanilla but Frostbolt coming back to standard is something I’m actually excited about.

Just kidding, wild growth still in. The gift card for druid lets you discover a temporary feral rage/wild growth/swipe for 1 Mana (it’s the 2 Mana wild growth, so… same cost as before too)

Wild growth at 3 is such a bad card, though.

Honestly… why do they insist on keeping Ice Barrier, Counterspell and Freezing Trap. And now Ice Trap is back? These things are extremely out of date, extrmeley min-max-y, and there are WAY better secrets in the wild pool than that now.

At least the DK set looks kinda cool.

You have to remember that Druid players are the greediest players in the game. These are the type of losers that ramp to 8 mana on turn 4, fizzle their hand, Zola the fizzle, cooy the copied fizzle Zola, heal their hero, regain all crystals, and draw 19 cards, for 2 mana. Of course these cry babies are going to have their feelings hurt!

is wild growth getting buffed on rotation?

Probably.

They did… not do a good job outlining what’s changing at rotation… but I think this core stuff starts tomorrow, yeah?

they only told us about core card changes(like twisting nether getting added the effect to destroy locations ) but i dont know where did he read wild growth is getting changed back to 2 mana and the gift cards dont discount the mana costs

About the Gift Cards, if you miss them as Log-in rewards, you get them all (13) with your first purchased pack of the new set. So, they will be 2024 set 1 cards.

I will shed a small tear for the death of Hunter’s King Krush. Of course Hunter will get new finisher damage in the form of Kill Command.

Rogue still keeps Shadow Step another year. Not a fan.

I am psycked thied rogue got the best nerf of its life spectral cutglass lifesteal for rogue
im so happy.

I love flik skyshiv this is gona be good vs druid.

Leeroy is techically a rogue card plus shadowstep means we can do alot of damage to end games vs slower decks.
Raiing party falorei now those are solid core cards im happy i will comment again on other classes once i take a look at them especially mage and paladin hoping some sort of control deck is possible with them.

I played a OTK Hedanis deck before Badlands and it was super fun and decently viable - I took it do D1 before Badlands. Ship’s Chireugeon might be a pretty fun addition.

Slight Correction on Gift Cards: After reading some comments on reddit, I now believe that the Gift Cards are their own set (similar to Path of Arthas) . So they are not part of 2024 expansion set 1, but will be tied to 2024 release so in standard for 2 years.

Once the meta settles and we move beyond the standard opening aggro meta that new Mind Control is going to be a meta tyrant. Outside of aggro you will see one if not two in most decks and any control player will play two for sure. You cannot play a small board forever in a game to beat control. Especially now with control Warrior getting more access to removal.

Yes you can get them now. Hematurge dropping to one Blood is auto include now in Rainbow and can nab you the Stealer. You can nab Marrow with Frost strike. Mortician going to a single rune completes the transition for rainbow. One of each to discover with in deck and leaves Farmhand to the double Plague decks. Overall i like the new balance to discovery in DK.

You can still play Triple Frost IMO with all the cards that have no rune requirements now. Muncher is going to basically be an auto include in all DK now. Triple Plague is 100% done at this point without Marrowgar. Probably moves to a double plague and Frost IMO. Lots of corpses and board presence and the frost ability to spend the runes for direct damage.

Druid seems fine IMO and is moving away from a play pattern they been playing since the game launched. Oaken Summons will be good with what they currently have in 4 drop to play. Could get better in the new set. I feel the rest of the classes got about the same and will be fine.

The only class that got nothing was Shaman. Those cards are absolutely AWFUL. The only thing that could save it would be some kind of 10 card package we haven’t seen in the new expansion.

The neutrals are were all the real big changes were made i think. They went very experimental in Neutral minions.

That’s definitely the worst thing I read in the OP.

The update in the year of “Pegasus” somehow doesn’t excite… :joy: :joy: :joy: What is this? Why are they making this update?

I would like meat, whiskey and go to a strip bar. Yes, people want “bread and circuses”, and not some changes in the year of “Pegasus”! :call_me_hand: :call_me_hand: :call_me_hand: :call_me_hand:

Yeah, I think MC Tech will be the card to watch out for. That thing was a mainstay in tons of decks back in Classic, and now it’s even better.

That and Justicar are the two neutral cards I want to make work.

Sir, but these cards are very old. “Horse” with stats 6/2. Mil the robber 2015, when was this? Did everyone put this playing card “Skor” in the robber’s deck?

The legendary card “Horse” is one of the most ancient and oldest cards, what year was it? Who remembers 2014-2015? It’s been like that for a long time. It’s better not to touch old cards… :call_me_hand: :call_me_hand: :call_me_hand:
