“The game would be over if my opponent didn’t play cards”.
Funny how that works

That would be an auto-include even without Freeze immunity.
Ehm … do you really believe anyone (including yourself) would play such a niche tech card?
The effect to counter freeze is called Silence (which is - at the same time - handy against other stuff as well).
It’s antimech antifreeze
It’s a 4 mana kill-two-things-the-turn-you-play-it.
That’s not anti-mech, that’s anti-literally anything lol
it’s a joke obviously
Hard to tell on here sometimes, there are folks that would legitimately see that as a good thing while calling something like Lucentbark life-ruiningly OP
I don’t understand all the recent calls for a freeze removal card, it would never be worth including unless it has another effect that was good enough on its own, and then you’d never use it for the unfreeze anyway
Precisely.
I think it just boils down to people being salty about the tools they lost to. People are often demanding a tech card for whatever is at least mildly popular/effective.
I mean declare blockers should have been a thing from day 1 anyway and taunt being that it could block multiple…but nope gotta go face all day or they cry.
Back in the Boomsday meta I fondly recall the Hunter-Druid matchups. I was particularly fond of the Bearshark. Druid decks had no minion based defense, so a Bearshark on curve followed up with a Hound Master or a glorious Crackling Razormaw Windfury buff showed their weakness.
We could use an aggressive inmune minion right now. In Specialist people are teching Fairy Dragon (Rogue V Mage), I would really like a 3/3 for 3 Amalgam with the inmune effect.
Well probably because they would never be played, sure you can get a win against a mage that relied on you being frozen thanks to being able to unfreeze that 8/8 of yours however against the other 8 classes it would be a dead card.
Most cards that interact and removes secrets havent seen alot of play just because they are so weak outside of when they face what they are there to do and thats against three classes that has them.
Specific counters historiclly doesnt work great in Hearthstone.
And in alot of sitauations silence does the same job as an unfreeze mechanique would do while still be relevent in other matchups.
This isn’t Magic. The rules are allowed to be different than what you think they should be
No! It’s not allowed!
If my opponent draws a card, there should be a card to counter it!
If my opponent takes a turn, there should be a card to stop that!
If my opponent emotes, there should be a card that deals damage to their face!
If my opponent scrolls over my minions, there should be a card that makes them discard one of their cards!
Let’s not forget the incompetence of not having a card that stops my opponent from roping their turn!
Why won’t Blizzard make a “stop my opponent from playing cards from their class”, like Iona in MTG?!
What really withers my soul is that some of those have literally been asked for unironically on these forums…
Unless, of course, your minions have their cost reduced to 1 mana or you have a cheap spell that can double your giants or you have a threatening board already. In that case, Frost Nova and Ray of Frost are amazing.
Well yes, if you managed to build a good board first or lucked into playing LPG without getting your face smashed in for blowing 5 mana then Freeze can come in handy. I can bring up some ideal scenarios for plenty of other decks as well.
Mage has to do something if part of their class identity is apparently being made of glass with no healing.
Silence is the counter… at least for minions on board
Charge minions get around frozen a little. There are also burn spells and decks to counter freeze decks. Lastly there is OTK.
It’s frustrating, but Blizzard hasn’t been giving it too much support so it doesn’t pop up too often.
I guess its waste of time to implement anti-freeze only strategy when you can just silence the effect. What would be the point? Who would run it in a deck? Maybe in freeze heavy meta, but the silence would still be a way better to slot in a deck even then.
But I still hope they would release some “Magic Immunity” keyboard “EDIT: keyword” that would be some better “cant be targeted” - no aoe magic damage, no CC, no aoe buffs etc.
I hate it when they buff their keyboard
