Hmmm,
There was an ultra fast priest with patches, creeper, and spiteful.
Then there was midrange dragons.
Then a combo based priest like razakus, galleryblast, or DSIF.
Then control priest that basically AoE fest with reanimator style finisher, like standard res priest and wild big priest.
None of them are likeable. People hates any and all of it.
