Where’s all the Artifact fanboys at?
Still waiting for that game to kill Hearthstone…
Well?
Say what?

MtG:A has been increasing in popularity based on all available metrics and financial guidances about/from Hasbro.
No offense Pupu but games can be popular with no cell support and Magic had an installed playerbase already that didn’t grow up with cell in hand so the PC restriction is far less of an issue in gaining popularity.
I’ll take financial guidances over Twitch numbers, opinion, or YouTube views. Everything is showing MtG:A is still in a growth phase.
People complain hearthstone is an expansive game but it’s what keep the game going. MTGA has like 1 person designing the whole game, they are way too slow because they just don’t have the resources for reach out.
Oh man, don’t get me started on the truly abysmal failure that was Artifact, especially its business model. What were they thinking?
you know, MTG been around allot longer, sure they might just made magic Arena, but MTG had allot of ‘before’ digital card style also before , some weren’t faithful to the real cards, while other had change of hand in Dev’s to much to know what it is anymore.
But MTG and Hearthstone are their own things completely. MTG has a rich and depth deck building to it, as for mono to mutli-color decks, while HS is limited to class only then the “fill in the gap” type of cards. IE Artifacts to mono color decks.
If someone was to ever say Hearthstone should been killing MTG, but no-one will state this cause most people came across hearthstone 1st.
But we have seen as of late in pre-release hearthstone Events where a Class was able to add all the other type of class cards to make some really strong decks, so maybe in the sometime future a “open to all” card merger , this would allow some card never seen play due to lack of stuff to work it, and When that does ever happen, I don’t want people to say oh Hearthstone is copying MTG deck complexity , cause then there will decks for every class to make and comes down to the hero power with better overall effectiveness if 1 deck rules them all.
Assuming both are being played by reasonable, socially functional, intelligent people, MTG is by far a better game than HS. No contest. But MTG is never going to “kill HS”. HS will always have plenty of people who find MTG too complex/difficult to play.
But MTGA is still in active development, with new features coming out regularly, where HS appears to be mostly in “cash cow / maintenance mode”. So I could see how people might feel HS is dying. They haven’t come out with anything new other than card sets in ages. Not even trivially easy to do things that players have been asking for.
HS devs seem so scared to add new game modes… i don’t get it. All they need to do is look around and see what other CCGs are doing to get and idea about what works. instead it’s like they need to think it out for 6 months.
they seem to think brawl is just the end all be all for game modes. it’s not. 90% of Brawls is CircusStone with goofy clown fiesta rules. that’s not what we mean by new game modes. it’s fine for casuals and FTP players who need that classic pack… but
A lot of us want other interesting ways to play hearthstone without the whackydoodle rules.
