Healing negates the Hunter hero power. Do they need a new one too?
This is such a bad analysis that it boggles my mind. You’re comparing to priest, which can heal its minions for board control or combo with cards to deal damage to the opponent or their minions, to Rogue, which can actually push face damage or kill enemy minions with its hero power. Warrior’s hero power literally does nothing other than protect its face (because they have no cards that can restore health either, outside of neutral options). This is essentially the equivalent of someone playing a 5 mana 5/5 that reads “Battlecry: your opponent can’t gain life for the rest of the game,” because you’ve just negated pretty much warrior’s entire class identity without giving any alternative options.
Congratulation, you have officialy wrote the stupidest post in the whole forum history.
(by far)
But no where does it say they can’t gain Armor again. What it may do is make Warriors consider not ramping up their armor all at once.
I am not saying I agree with the objective of the card, but for the OP to say this negates the Warrior’s HP and that no card should be able to do that is ludicrous, since there are multiple cards that can do that to every class HP.
I don’t disagree that the OP’s position is rather absurd, but I think it does bear remembering that warrior’s hero power is almost certainly the weakest in the game right now. 2 mana to gain 2 armor is an awful rate, and the ability to stack armor is really the only good thing about it.
For consideration, Alexstrasza can deal 15 damage (or up to 25 if your opponent played Amara). For just over half the cost, this can deal 20-30+ damage. Arguing that warrior shouldn’t stack its armor so much isn’t really valid, because it’s the only way they have to survive. Several of their cards require a high amount of armor to be relevant (shield slam, reckless flurry), and armor can be broken so easily that they need to keep it high to avoid the possibility of dying out of nowhere.
I’ll remember that next time I see a dr boom just casually adding 7 points of armour as though it were nothing.
Oh, but I agree with you here. I was merely pointing out that this card is not THAT well stated and therefore would be exactly run as a tech card only (ie it may or may not be worth it depending on the meta and on how effective it is as a tech).
Overall, I guess my point is that the card is narrow enough that people coming up with “OMGORZ, WARRIOR HP IS NOW DEAD” posts are really overreacting as the card won’t be used that much - which may not be the case if it had, indeed, good stats.
Paladin HP used to be 100% countered by despicable dreadlord. Just an example.
More importantly, Warrior is the only class that could go to 60+ HP while cleaning the board and putting some minion on top of that. I believe Its definitly a healthy change that will weaken dramatically their matchup against combo such as shirvallah and malygos druid, and potentially allow mid range to win when before its was almost a guaranteed lose.
Cmon, we didn’t play the same game. Control taunt warrior has a mana curve and enough minion to put board pressure while cleaning your. Restless mummy. Town crier. Snip snap. Zilliax. Warpath. Brawl. All the taunt shenanigans of uldum. If warrior can’t survive without armor, I wonder how the other classes are doing it.
Apparently you don’t play wild. Warrior is hot trash there right now, and then something like this comes along. Plus, even in standard control warrior isn’t the top deck.
No one will bother using this card until armor is up around 10+ I reckon. It’s not like Warrior has a faulty hero power. Smarter play would to keep the armor around 8 or 9, but not high enough to force your opponent into using the card.
Platebreaker might be played on curve but no one will use it to specifically get rid of 3 armor or something… that’s even if the card is in the opponents deck at all.
Is it worth a card spot for ‘just in case’? Depending how the meta turns out, it might not see play at all because people might be moving away from Control Warrior into more aggro based Warriors ones, or dragon Warrior or whatever.
