Trading Tradeable cards crashes the game (Solved it)

This happens to me too, approx. since May (note that it was working fine before).
The moment I ‘connect’ a tradeable card with my deck, the game crashes. Forging cards works properly though.
I didn’t care too much about it because tradeable was a set-specific mechanic, but now when they added more cards with it and made the keyword evergreen, the bunch of us are literally playing the game with a handicap…

Maybe someone here has a reddit account and could raise this issue there? Seeing that it’s never mentioned in the ‘known issues’ posts on this forum.

I’m playing on PC with integrated ATI GPU

Still occurs. I think this happens since patch 26.2.0.174258. Even hovering a tradeable card close to the deck causes a crash. Crashes on Windows 7 and 10. Forge cards do not crash the game neither hovering nor forging. Before that patch tradeable cards worked.

[When I try to trade a Tradeable it crashes. After restart, the card wasn’t traded. I found only 1 mention of this bug, so I wonder what specific case causes it. I either play from a phone or old laptop and in this case it’s from the latter. Is it the software? But everything else is fine with the game.

I HAVE LEARNED A TRICK THAT WORKS FOR ME!!!

I use PC and it crashes when I trade BUT!!!..If ,when you trade a card, do it with a quick motion and release the card QUICKLY it will stutter but will trade. You have to do it in one motion…Drag and release but it does work.

It takes a bit to get the timing right but now I can trade without fail.

Another thing I will say…Wehn you do it make it the last thing you attempt in the turn.
Play your turn fast and then Do the maneuver QUICKLY. This way you have time to restart the game and attempt it again if it crashes.

Hope this helps all the peeps that Hearthstone has targeted with bad gaming.

For the Hearthstone sprogrammers…The problem is with the trading Animation.

Please give us an option to use bare minimum animations. It would cut a lot of $#!T out of your game as far as bugs go.

i don’t know how many users are affected by this trade bug , but this thing you posted can help alot the blizzard devs team on find the cause of the crash.
Becouse if it works that way for sure there is something on the “moving animation” before the trade is made .

but the trade last suggestion is a disadvantage.

Oh if you only knew the amount of times in duels that I wanted to trade a card that was no help at all to me in my situation…The single movement maneuver came by accident as I was pissed off and just did it and was expecting the game to crash and I was just going to get up from my computer and walk away from the game.

But you are correct. It is in the movement animation. As the card gets to the deck it locks. I think doing it quickly before the animation happens is what allows it to actually trade.

I still have this problem.
I’ll try your quick trick.
It’ll be like a ‘who is quicker’ the crash or me.
I have stopped playing duels and tradeable cards since. It’s sad because it’s a nice mechanic…

Blizzard doesn’t care about their players… 6 months of a game crashing bug and the devs haven’t even answered the thread… Piece of garbgae company

i play with tradeable cards and i only crashed once right before the card gets shuffled

but didnt happen again

its must be something more than just trading

I don’t have this issue on my desktop.

Trading always crashes HS on my laptop however, no matter how quick I drag and release the card. It is an old laptop , I will post specs below in case it’s helpful.

HP Elitebook 8460p

Win 7 pro service pack 1

intel core i5-2520m

Ram : 16 GB

Intel HD Graphics 3000

You have to drag and release before the animation starts. Believe me…you have to do it FAST… If you are trying to do it with a touchpad instead of a mouse you are NOT going to be able to do it.

Hi ive been practising for the past hour but i cant get it consistently enough where its reliable for me to do it in game.

I made a tradeable deck and practise in wild so at first i thought you have to really quickly take the card from hand and launch it to the right but then i tested if i can still do it after the green part shows up and it works. I take the card slide it to left of the screen hold it there concentrate and quickly launch it to the right under the tradeable thingy while also being mindful to unclick before it reaches there. This way i can get it like 60-70% of the time but it still crashes randomly and i dont understand why.

Care to explain your way step by step specifically or share a video demonstration perhaps on imgur? I know thats too much to ask for but youl be savor to the community, you already are for discovering this fix. You can screenrecord with microsoft powerpoint if you dont have an app or extension that can do that.

Hold the card and get ready, then quickly move it PAST the deck and release. Do NOT stop on the deck.
I can do it about 90% of the time.

I already uninstalled it and installed it back, but the error persisted here for me too

This may sound pessimistic but this is never going to be fixed unless you upgrade to newer version hardware. I’m not a tech expert but looking into this issue and testing it myself enough times to figure out it is outdated graphics cards, The trading animation was probably updated in one of the year old May patch’s slightly to keep in line with newer hardware that support it. The reason why forge works and trading doesn’t is probably due to the animations being different with the trading animation requiring more to process since it is including a shuffle animation ontop of the draw sequence whereas the forge card just goes back to your hand.

So why won’t this be fixed? here’s the only optimistic reason I can come up with. Simply put: it can’t be fixed. You’ll just have to purchase a up-to-date desktop/laptop. It sucks but that’s just how things are.

But why are Blizz being quiet about this? well, if I recall correctly it is against company policy to reveal technical issues that can’t be fixed. That would be the same thing as saying “Yeah it doesn’t work, oh well just live with it” and nobody wants to hear that truth or not. It doesn’t look good on you so is just better left unsaid. If they could fix it it would have been long fixed by now and mentioned as a known issue. Oh they know about this issue, and they want to fix it but it can’t so there is no point on saying anything about it, saying it will be fixed eventually but is a lie is just about as bad as confessing that it will never be fixed.

I have exactly the same issue. has anyone heard of a fix yet?

It would be helpful if blizzard communicated which hardware is affected by this bug. Which graphics cards?
