The expansion did start quite fun to be fair and there was a good amount of variety on the ladder. But yeah, it’s just turning into a snooze fest of combo decks and Paladin now, though I don’t particularly mind playing against Paladin that much as you can at least play a proper game of Hearthstone against them.
I can’t believe that the devs really wanted Hearthstone to turn into a game in which your goal is to spam through your deck as quickly as possible and pray you can kill your opponent before they kill you. I miss the days where Combo decks actually took thought and careful planning throughout the game to reach your end goal. Nerfs are definitely needed or nothing is going to change.
I think he wants the expansions be impactful, which requires stronger cards than past expansions. Which is kinda hard with the quests. The meta is (based on what I meet) Quest warriors, Owl/quest warlocks, quest rogue, some paladins, some shamans.
Which kinda sucks, because only matchup you can play slower is shaman/paladin.
Hearthstone Designer surely loves playing solitaire a lot.
I miss playing hearthstone that take away little by little damage to opponent, for example, 3 damage this turn, and 4 damage next turn. Every damage counted to opponent must be surely important to game toward the end of game…
But,
No.
Hearthstone has become hyper aggro, hyper OTK, hyper buff, hyper lock, hyper solitaire deck.
Putting Buffing Trogg that lock opponent…
Clearing board, while draw 3 cards, get armor, setting up board at 6 mana…
Healing and clearing board at same time with the lowest possible mana and also setting up OTK
Drawing and stalling all the way until you draw combo pieces and do OTK.
HSreplay not track the “average player” but Just raw numbers of people who used the lists.
This end showing raw numbers that while true will not reflect the general experience.
Basically the difference is exactly that their data isn’t curated by an actual analist that HAS to tweak the numbers a little in order to better reflect the reality.
The way you read HSreplay data is Very different from the way you read VS.
Also the indo you get from they is different too.
One example?
If HSreplay shows a deck with 60% it’s okay.
If VS shows a deck with 60% winrate it’s an overpowered mess that will be nerf.
Questline warrior, freeze shaman and warlock OTK feels too much optimized, a small nerf in this 3 classes don’t will hurt the meta but is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more playable than before, now the classes with weaker questlines have others powerful things like hero cards to be relevant.
One of the best, if not the best, expansion release.
Paladin is more oppressive, shaman have new decks, I see waaaay more priests than I did last month (which imo sucks hardcore), otk warlock is a thing, pirate warrior has hard counters…
I think zeddy is kind of a whiny little … person and his takes to be self serving, and this one is no different.
Yeah, in retrospect I regret creating this topic. I see now that I was wrong in thinking Zeddy was right (even more moronic). At least some discussion came out of it and I’ve learned.
No need for regret, it isn’t illegal to hold an opinion just because others disagree! Unless it is hurting people I guess, but I’d hope that isn’t the case here.
We will need to wait for new VS report, so we see the changes.
But looking at 214 (last in UiS), looking at legend, all those decks which were there are still there. Some received few cards, but overall very slight changes.
I won’t go so far as to say that everything coming out of Zeddy’s mouth is incorrect because sweeping generalizations like that are generally bad, but I can confidently say that in pretty much all aspects that matter, Zeddy is NOT the type of HS player that anyone who wants to be happy in life should emulate.
I think all the saltiness is just an act on Zeddy’s part. I hope for him that it is anyways. But, you’re right, you can’t go around being angry all the time like that, it isn’t healthy.
