I love how the little sliver of irony in my pictures went completely unnoticed to the “it’s rigged” crowd.
Unfortunately, they’ll never quite grasp the point that’s made.
It’s a lot like the Flat Earth people. You can show them the error in their thinking and they sort of short circuit out and say “No! it’s THIS…not THAT”…
it actually reminds me 100% of this scene in this movie:
How that guy reacts at the very start is how I imagine these people react when a solid point is put forth against their assertion. Like they just 404 error for a second then go back to repeating the same bs
To a certain extent, sure, but in a way no. By which I mean, Flat Earthers tend to live lives that are at least somewhat in accordance with their beliefs, while rigging believers are, for the most part, logging into Hearthstone every three days to knock out those dailies and watch the XP go up. They say that the game is rigged but they keep coming back to it. So they’re a little bit more like Flat Earther NASA employees — which is at least a full tier higher on the messed-up-ometer. Or like if the guy in that video clip did a six minute workout three times a week.
Like I was telling Yozakura, if you (not you Schyla but the figurative you) were serious with yourself about believing that the game is rigged, you would have uninstalled Hearthstone as soon as you believed. It would have utterly destroyed your desire to play. The fact that you haven’t, that you won’t, shows that you’re in denial.
This is assuming Flat Earthers aren’t doing this in the real world that also contradicts their beliefs in a Flat Earth…aren’t Flat Earthers also taking plane flights, watching sunsets, sunrises, living life according to time zones every single day that directly contradicts their belief in Flat Earth? They’re logging in to life every day being morons.
There are plenty of people — well, some at least — who don’t ever take plane flights and live in the woods. I don’t view knowledge of even basic astronomy to be a hard requirement of being a reasonably skillful person. I think “moron” might be taking it too far.
What they are is wrong about something. But that’s okay. We’re all wrong about something. If the Flat Earther can fix my car or whatever then he doesn’t bother me, unless he’s so zealous that my "Globehead"ism bothers him.
Rigging believers who queue up in Ranked are different. They actively bother me.
I once knew a guy who worked at an Army research lab who entirely believed the semiconductor physics that made their infrared cameras work, but thought that radioisotope dating was a fraud because the earth is 6000 years old, which is also why he homeschooled his kids to “prevent indoctrination.”
Convincing him that it was in fact the same physics was an exercise in futility.
Then I am a psychic, predicting the “random” BG attack order with about 90% or better accuracy. Or. Psychics don’t exist, and said attack order isn’t actually random.
Yes, the game is not rigged in 50%… thats why I get enemies who are using mostly minions if I put resistance aura into my deck… and get spellcasters when using cold feet… logical… not rigged… oh noooo… that is just accident too! Just like control Priest who is stealing always the enemies ultimate and DK who is destroying it by Patchwerk in 90%… these are all accidents, right? Wake up guys…
Just to be clear, this is the guy who claimed he makes an amazing income by going up to people in the street, showing them hearthstone and getting them to bet on what happens next. Then taking their money because he did hundreds of hand written pages of analysis to crack the game’s code.
And he’ll show you this, but only if you fly to Prague.
This is a lie. I have never claimed it is amazing income, just some money, never claimed I go up to people on the street.
You don’t have to fly. You can walk, go by train… I don’t care whether you (or anyone else for that matter) believe me or not. You want to see it? You make the effort.
This is the part that always makes me laugh. If they are ‘rigging’ all these things (basically everything that takes place while playing a game), then why, WHY would they even bother to rig MM?
What possible benefit is there to handpick opponents if you are already manipulating everything in a game? Good and bad matchups mean absolutely nothing if every card draw, mulligan, discover and RNG outcome is the result of a “decision making algorithm” to decide who wins and loses.
Anybody ever get a draw btw? Algorithms were tired that day I guess.
