Seems we are getting a new event card (leak)

They leaked the entire expansion last month so this is peanuts.

With all respect.

As long as unkiliax exist as it is dumb answers like this are acceptable.

What if it’s 7 mana. Will you still find it cheap? Rogues don’t play easily 7 mana cards.

They leaked the entire expansion last month so this is peanuts.

That’s true, but that was an unintended consequence of someone in their IT department screwing up. You know that had to have been an internal error where someone uploaded the wrong update version to the server end and gave it the green light. They should have thorough checks to make sure that kind of stuff doesn’t happen, but at least we know it was an accident.

Leaks like this are (usually) intentional saboutage where an internal source releases information not intended to be made public. Smuggling an unrevealed card image out of company boundaries and posting it to reddit or uploading it to a web hosting service is not an accident. And breaking an NDA is a very serious offense in the corporate world. Putting up the cards in the in game client is one thing, but all these OTHER leaks we’ve been seeing fairly recently is another matter entirely.

Don’t be surprised if minimal leaks like this one (if it’s true) are intentional by the Devs or almost intentional in the sense they might not care.

I mean that Event may be too soon. Spilling the beans for one card a few days earlier might be unimportant.

That’s fine, it should have counters. But the counter to it shouldn’t also counter literally any board with any big minion and future big minions. The fact that Unkilliax is also countered isn’t what makes this card busted in Rogue.

What mana do you want it to have to be not OP assuming the effects don’t get nerfed?

I wouldn’t nerf the mana. I’d nerf the minion steal to be random. Or end of turn. Or make it a copy and not steal. It should have to remain on board to have the effect so that it can’t be Battlecry abused. So end of turn sounds good to me.

That wasn’t the question but OK. I find it hard to be useful if it was 10 for example. Probably already expensive at 8.

Rogues have a lot of cheap things they can do. Is it really cheap if it was 7 mana etc?

The reason you don’t nerf the mana is because then you do what happens to other neutrals - you make it only playable in Druid.

You want it playable at 6 for everyone, but not busted for 6 mana for a specific class so that now other classes can’t play it due to 1 class and then gets a mana nerf. Does that make more sense?

You need the 6 mana effects to be worth the effect + the body. You don’t want the effect and body to be played over and over for less.

If it’s real this card kinda dumb. A rogue and druid card and I doubt anything else. Exactly the kind of card everyone will hate. And literally every effect makes someone angry:

  • A stall that boardlocks
  • A minion steal
  • Value + mana cheat
  • Target draw and combo enabler

At 6 mana only druids and rogue will use it and they’re precisely the ones you don’t want to be abusing this. If true, it’s like they design stuff just throwing darts to a wall.

The thing is that unkiliax is the ultimate sticky minion.

So anything that answer him will in fact answer anything. That thing has even reborn so even with non target spells you can’t remove it 100%. It is dumb.

Threads of despair easily kills Unkilliax and also uses him as a weapon to kill the entire board.

Threads of despair isn’t going to kill a 7/21 Primus.

So there is 1 prime example of something that answers him that doesn’t answer anything.

Things can also kill Unkilliax as a counter but killing something else the same isn’t countering it. For example, a poison that kills Unkilliax or a small rush minion that kills him counters him, but killing a massive 22/30 starship that has deathrattles to summon minions isn’t countered because it dies and still does something.

So the idea that “anything that answers Unkilliax” does not, in fact, answer “anything”.

Alright the card was just confirmed by the patch notes.

Disgusting really. Oh well, go figure.

It’s honestly very telling. The card is 10/10 in flavor, but a fat 0 in gameplay design.

That’s exactly how they’ve approached new Standard sets for a long time. Come up with fun, creative cards that scratch that flavor fantasy itch, then worry about how they come together as a cohesive gameplay experience later.

The r/customhearthstone design philosophy.

This card needs a buff… it should ‘freeze all enemy minions, gain +1/+1 for each minion frozen’ and needs to be a 5/5.

Steal an enemy minion and give them 3 coins has an additional downside beyond the minion you lose. How many people actually want mr mukla to fill their hand with banannas? More often than not you won’t have the hand space to even get all 3 coins, and you’ll end up burning a card. In a lot of matchups this reads “Steal an important minion, give your opponent one coin and burn the next card they draw”

I hate bob already

Exactly. The downside is really an upside.

Let’s change it to give your opponent 3 extra mana crystals next turn and see what happens instead.

the bananas dont cost 0 this card can make someone regret giving a warrior 3 coins to get rid of zillax (spill) they may end up seeing odyn summoned next turn
