Aggro druid is probably trying, in that regard idk if patches still makes the list, but then you wouldn’t have to craft passage right out of the gate.
This is why I wish We had a format in between Wild and Standard.
Something that does not allow Standard cards, and only allows the same amount of expansions as Standard.
I think it would be way more fair.
Yeah, I’ll craft Patches just because it’s a free 1/1 + deck thinning for any tempo deck that has a turn 1 pirate.
And they’ll probably add more pirates at some point, so I know it’s somewhat of a safe craft.
Mallen, aren’t there also mad scientist, the 2 mana spell and kirin tor mage?
For the record I haven’t tested the deck yet
Yeah mad is in the deck, but again; if you have to depend on it for secret deployment, you generally lose.
If you can trade it on your terms then it’s awesome.
Kirin tor works, but these days it’s slow in Wild.
So are those are the only viable mage decks?
Secret and that wildfire mage.
Everything else is too slow and gimmicky for wild, right?
Idk, those are all I personally play.
Btw there’s a secret limit, it’s 5 at a time.
Idk, there’s balance changes this month and new miniset start of next month I think.
Probably not anything for wild though.
But if you nerf the weapon, depending on how big the nerf is, the deck will probably fall off.
It’s kind of hard to tell what cards are outliers because wild has a lot less players.
But 4 attack and 3 charges weapon for 3 mana is definnitely as crazy weapon stats as it gets rn
I think 5 secrets is a bit much (in Wild), given the strength of today’s secrets.
And yeah, the rogue weapon drives me bonkers lol.
The weapon is definitely the engine that powers pirate rogue. I think it’s too much as well. One less durability would be great, but I won’t get my hopes up.
In wild the only thing keeping the druids at bay is the pirate rogue and the even shamans, i would focus more the nerfs on the miracle and pillager archetypes…
All I see in Wild is Rogue, Druid, and DK. Occasionally shamans though.
I think the card is very strong and the pirate package is totally crazy in Wild.
However, we can also blame ourselves for not teching anti-weapon cards in our decks.
Rogue can often already have on the board over 4 minions on turn 2 before even playing the Swordfish in Wild.
The Pirate package is IMHO one or THE fastest deck I must fight full time in Diamond Wild. I lose very often to it unless I play a deck loaded with low cost Taunt and spells just to keep up.
Funny enough, my Warrior decks are the one doing best against Pirate Rogue but they get gutted by anything else haha.
Well that is the thing, you can kind of modify your deck in such a way that pirate rogue is not problematic. The secret mage deck on the other hand can’t even really be countered, if you run eater of secrets, it might be countered anyway or you may never draw it… Either way even with that it pushes out a lot of stats and has way too much disrupt and plenty of hand refill, yeah it is slightly susceptible to board clear and armour gain and develops board about a turn later than some other aggro decks.
You might be putting too much weight onto the tempostorm tier list if you really think pirate rogue is the outlier deck, I also severely doubt it will receive nerfs, it often looks a bit like throwing darts at the wall since they don’t even typically hit the deck with the highest winrate so your guess is as good as mine as to what gets nerfed and if there will be any wild nerfs at all is a second mystery.
I think pirate rogue beats secret almost every time unless secret draws perfectly.
idk, maybe I am playing it badly.
Thats any mode in hearthstone tho.
Feels about right for the power that’s in wild. 2 board wipes and a small heal and that deck is toast.
The deck falls hard against taunts as well. That’s probably why as a mage player it seems strong to you since you don’t have taunts in your secret package.
Probably. When secret mage fails, it fails hard against decks like this.
