Hello, I played the card “Reverberations” on my opponent’s “Sargeras the Destroyer” who still had the ability to cast “By the Void!” It had no effect, and I lost the game. Is this a bug?

Not a bug. You have to control the portal created by Sargeras’s battlecry in order for Sargeras’s abilities to work
To be fair, it was a bug, and they “bug fixed” it some patch after the cards came out. But sure, intended now.
Yes, the bug used to be that you could activate Sargeras’s abilities but they would activate for the opponent’s portal. Good if you wanted to send everything to the twisting nether. Terrible if you thought you were gonna summon two big demons for yourself

I never really got why they changed it. I guess a buff and simultaneous nerf to Mage?
Probably nerf since Sargeras never really came down to clear against a Mage. So Mage lost the option to clear with the portal ability.
I also thought it was fine the way it worked when it was released. I wonder if they received a lot of complaints from bad players accidentally summoning minions for their opponent and changed it for that reason, but maybe the current way that it works was intended all along.
