There are people that intentionally rope burn just to troll others, it’s not like that isn’t a thing, but in my experience, it’s relatively rare, not a lot of people have the time or want to waste the time to essentially get a reaction out of people, or it’s just bots, in the literal or figurative sense.
Nobody actually interested in winning tryhards that hard
If you think you’re getting “trolled” by your opponent consistently utilizing their allotted time, then you’re the one with the problem.
I never said I was consistently trolled by an opponent, in fact I said it’s rare of an occurrence. If you’re going to be contrarian at least read what people write before replying.
Seems like a valid strategy, i usually rope when im start to winning and give my opponent time to surrender, then they start playing faster and worse…
There’s that important word in my post, you know that first one in it. What was it again?
Consistently was the word.
Actually, the word was “if.”
But, you should probably reread my post more thoroughly to see how “consistently” is used.
One opponent can “consistently use their turn timer.” It’s a logical fault to extrapolate that to the population of opponents.
You failed to differentiate between one or many games.
How many games do you typically have with one opponent?
Many with one opponent, not many with the same. And not any with more than one.
When you get done with the petulant whining, you can go back and read my post for realsies.
You misinterpreted the post. Just own it and move on with your life.
You’re the one that didn’t specify the differences between one and many games. I’m not saying I actually go against intentional rope burners.
One or many games isn’t even relevant to the point I made, but there was no hint of a plural whatsoever.
But sure, claim victory.
Not worth it, burning the rope isn’t a reportable offence.
I just assume it’s a slow poke over there, what can I do? Some people are just slow, and it annoys me irl as well. Not everyone are fast thinkers.
In 6 months of regularly playing HS i’ve been “roped” for probably 5-6 turns total. There were couple dudes who just roped / emoted for 2 turns and then continued as usual. It’s actually funny to me. It’s the game that may piss me off, not the players.
No it is not. If your opponent is more skilled than you, you might not be able to see what they’re thinking about.
If you report people for “stalling”, then you are the one breaking the rules.
Cant do anything to someone making use of the time allotted to them by the developer / design.
When you think your opponent is deliberately roping,
- 40% of the time they’re thinking about a play you’re too unskilled to even see,
- 30% of the time they’re juggling an IRL responsibility with Hearthstone at the same time,
- 20% of the time they’re having connection issues or their client crashed,
- 10% of the time you’re actually right — but half of that time, you accidentally BM’d your opponent first, and they’re just retaliating. So really, you’re only right 5% of the time.
