Patch notes o.0

You must not face any Priest or Warlocks if you are climbing in legend with that deck. DK has literally no way of ever beating Rafaam lock or Harold Lock and the priest decks can over damage you by so much it’s ridiculous.

I guess if you faced aggro all day but then that would mean you are not getting bad draws which this deck can very much have.

I wish DK was playable but i am guessing this is more of a high rank thing where you face the same specific targetable few decks.

It has husk. You have an immunity to their OTK. Smuggler lets you give Onyxia rush so they can’t chains / polymorph it before you get it in the rez pool.

They really can’t if you start chaining onyxias, and you have the better early / mid game.

Nah, I saw a while lot of variety. I’ve been playing herald DK primarily for months now, and every month I have placed higher than the last.

The deck definitely isn’t high tier, and I have to play better than my opponents in a lot of games to win, but it’s doable.

I have played a meme herald (otk) dk with slighter version (cut off 1 memorial manifest, 1 envoy, 1 tower of ghoul, also dont use smuggler).

I would say it’s not a high tier deck, but it’s definitely playable on the ladder (around top 1k).

I doubt your version has huge issue with card draw.

I mean it’s strong if draw order goes well, but lack of consistency when you can’t have perfect draw every game.

Too many combos needed in your reasoning in general. That may translate to a low win rate which is the point.

It’s made worse by the dumb Team 5 design of allowing “aggro”(ie fast) decks to even exist.

The meme that “aggro must exist” is dumb. Plenty of metas did fine without them.

The decks that need combos to beat are pretty slow and usually give you the time to have them.

You have 9 turns to get a smuggler + Onyxia to avoid lock from using chains on her. That’s going to happen more than it doesn’t.

None of the cards in the deck require combos to be an effective card, but combos exist when they do line up.

Okay, NM. Holy cow that is a whole lot of games just from the 18th. I’m assuming you entered legend pretty high so that makes sense. I cannot play that many games in one sitting unless the game is enjoyable and it hasn’t been fun for a while for me. I applaud the effort of plow through that many games.

Not every dot is a game. That site does an update rank check of the leaderboards every few hours. It does so more frequently when you are in the higher ranks (like better than top 1k)

I played a decent amount (411 games that month), but the bigger point here is that when played properly, the deck has been doing well overall. It’s definitely not a “lol trash deck” tier. I climbed rank over the month, and in fairly competitive rank brackets. It wasn’t just a one time win streak bait deck.

I wouldn’t say it’s tier 1 though, one weakness it definitely has is on the draw side of things. There just isn’t really any room for it, and the remaining options aren’t particularly good. You also really need to know each matchup to use some of the cards in it to their maximum.

In a game that is leaning more heavily towards agro go face, it’s pretty bad.

I just wanted to let you know Nohands is playing basically your deck in top 100 and is having a blast with it according to him. I expect the deck to become more popular as the days go on with how often players copy his deck.

This is the version he is playing.

I actually ran into that list yesterday and was wondering where it came from.

It has some choices I’m not a fan of, but still has a lot of the same core.

(I do not like soul rest, and tower of ghouls is too good against warrior to ignore, also only one very expensive weapon to break staff is suspicious)

But what’s the point of patching a game that is played at least 50% by barcode accounts? The best thing we can do is push governments like the European one, which are always much more careful and punitive than others on these aspects, to promote laws that hit companies like Blizzard hard, which must be brought back to a state of humility. We are not the ones who have to suffer everything, they are the ones who have to thank us every day because we allow them to exist. If we all abandon Hearthstone from one day to the next, Blizzard will cease to exist and thousands of people will no longer be able to put up with bread.

That meme is something i got a little too late to talk about but that buff is just pointing to everyone and their moms their intention with quest mage nerf.

For mage players to shut up and go play the new deck AKA code violet.

Personally i think that people are too pissed to catch that up or just not want on purpose because they are pissed but the deck has most stuff the average player want.

Ways to deal with pw without even sweat.
A dumb mana cheat
A long match plan in case things go wrong.

Personally i would be more incisive with the mage stuff by changing the trickster and making kalecgos as rest of the game effect rather than whatever he is now but i guess they hate mage players enough to not risk it.

Copy pasting decks from the top 100 is a dumb idea, because those people keep playing with the same 5-10 specific dudes for the whole day, so they tech against them specifically.

Average joe from legend 1870 copy pastes from them, and doesn’t realize all the tech cards are useless and lower the win rate and they could instead turn the deck more aggro.

There’s honestly not a lot of Tech cards in that deck. There are CHOICES made for reasons. This version is a little more Health conscious due to all the aggressive and burst decks.

I’m actually a huge fan of Soul rest due to the ability to build out a board against these greedy decks and then use said built board to remove their board knowing i have the resource advantage. It’s kind of a package deal with remnant.

The weapon choice is interesting but probably could be swapped for something else when they decide that blood is allowed to have a good sweeper again.

Tower is also an interesting choice. So far i have had an issue with aggro but being able to build boards fast then play a spell and erase their board has been like having the tower.

It’s nice to see two Blood decks at least trying and being semi viable. Neither deck are the kind you just copy and win with. There are a couple things you need to understand about BDK ATM.

I didn’t mean it had conventionally blatantly tech cards like the Viper - which would be also an indication of the problem but it’s not necessary.

I mean those people counter a specific micrometa that has very few people that they know BY NAME often so it’s not good to copy them.

For example even using the Leech cards might be countering because they might be in need for a lot of 2 + 1 minion damage.

PS It COULD apply to other micrometas - e.g. 1 minion damage is good for pirate warriors, but it’s not a guarantee.

I’ve been fiddling a little with DK in wild. It’s pretty well situated right now with the health gain and infinite clears. I’d play it more if there wasn’t an annoying deckbuilding mini game to suffer through.

I agree with real Carnivore that high legend is a parasitic meta, for sure. That doesn’t mean the decks are bad, but when they’re building they don’t have to take everything into account.
