5 pieces because you keep those in hand, same as exodia. The excavate cards you can put on the board. I know you can also do snake, bounce (once or twice) too if you are not threatened too much on board, but still…
I don’t play Constructed atm, but even I was confused by the adjustments for the cards. The pally nerf kinda slows it down, but don’t they have a ton of divine shields?
DH Naga nerf is laughable. It’s obviously a card you play for a burst and don’t care if it lasts because A) you can have two and B) you can discover another one. It’s like if they reduced Malygos’ HP back in Malygos Druid’s day and did nothing else.
Snake feels the same but less. That’s all.
Guess it’s a good thing there’s an immediate balance update next week. Hope y’all maintain your sanity. I’m jumping into BGs to see how things are.
Agreed… these nerfs will do nothing, except Bigger Yourmonger can’t be drawn out as a 1 mana cost spell by 1 mana cost minion anymore. DH was the biggest fail in this patch because it is not the stat of this minion is the problem… it is the unavoidable chain it starts and kills you before finish in one turn… 5 → 3 HP won’t change anything because you still won’t have the chance to kill it…
No, my first assessment was right. You’re hypothesis is situational, basically you’re saying that you might not get all your combo piece by turn 10 , which is another matter entirely and was just as true for the unnerfed Azerite snake.
Please don’t act as if you’re thinking deep when really, you’re talking about something else entirely.
And while its possible to do 2x 14 , its require to add two specifics card (the 2 mana projectionnist). Its not possible with the brewmaster + zola version because you can’t bounce snake after dropping its twice, letting your opponent the chance to kill the snake and prevent the combo continuation.
DH fell even harder, it almost disappeared from ladder except for a little outliers in very high legend where the deck sees a very friendly meta. It fell hugely in popularity in all other ranks beside that top 1k.
Paladin is still seeing decent play all across ladder but its power got a little decreased by the reduced consistency of order in the court. But paladin can just easily adapt to this nerf as none of it’s excellent early game stuff got hit…
No it wasn’t and you don’t really know what you’re talking about. Yes, you technically need 1 more turn, but good luck getting 4 bounce cards instead of 2 by turn 10.
I think paladin is stil playable but that nerf does affect them i play paladdin too im just playing other decks atm like shaman this nerf does hurt them but we could see more nerfs possbly when the secon patch comes before worlds.
The nerf to snake wasn’t strong enough. It requires cards that specifically counter it in a deck to stop the broken mechanic. The card design is terrible with such a high damage. If they lower the damage more it would be acceptable.
I ran a sludge deck at launch and then, after the nerf, swapped excavates for the fatigue package and took it all the way to legend this season. I kinda struggle to see how to fit the excavates and the bounce package in, though.
You’re right, the full bounce package would be too much. I just have two bouncers and the Snake. Though, you do get another Snake if you play all eight excavates.
This just in, the meta is still incredibly stale and boring. Same handful decks that dominate everything…most classes are not seen as they cannot compete with aggro paladin, dragon druid and rainbow mage…
