Paladin still lacks a way to make those tokens scary. They may be sticky but that’s not relevant if you just get smorced down, or the opponent plays a single medium bodied taunt.
Unless paladin gets a legitimate board buff this isn’t looking very great.
You can draw it late and that would be bad but you could also play poltkelt and guarantee it early if the rest of the curve allows for it.
You need to summon quiet a few dudes for this to be worth it though and it does come kinda late. Probably not as strong in standard as people think it is.
Worst case scenario it’s still a Hero Power upgrade. Not as good as having 2 Silver Hands and it’s not good enough for a deck with 0 Silver Hand generators, but still not something you can just dismiss.
I think the ideal combo is him on 5 to corrupt day at the fair, play that next turn, then after they trade, refresh the divine shields with the balloon guy. Seems hard to pull off but pretty strong
This card is aboslutely broken and i will eat my words later if im wrong but im very sure everyone will play this and if no crazy other cards is given to other classes then winrate of paladin will be even higher than it is now.
They have so much buffs and after playing Liadrin they can do whatever they want. Also for penflinger version this will be op.
Because of the plus 1 attack on the recruits and the fact that drawing Balloon Merchant is more likely than drawing Lothraxion? But yeah, this card is Stronk if you can curve it out.
In Standard, it seems kinda meh. The obvious combo is to play Lothraxion while Day at the Faire is in hand, but even that seems unexciting.
Paladin doesn’t have the board wide buffs that Shaman/Druid have so the question becomes what are you trying to do with these slightly sticky silverhand recruits? Maybe you just jam it along with the other silverhand recruit cards in Pure Paladin and that’s just good enough?
This guy does turn Air Raid into 2 Mana: Summon Two Righteous Protectors (Twice) which sounds pretty good, don’t know how easy it will be to pull that off though
This is another exciting edition to the Dude Paladin archetype. If Paladin receives additional ways to generate Silver Hand Recruits other than Day at the Faire, I could see the archetype being viable in the next expansion.
