Don’t forget that the decks are playing against bronze golds, but are played by bronze golds as well. Which implies the same amount of misplays in both players.
No, players who have HSR reporting software installed, even if they’re low rank, tend to be at a much higher skill level than the typical noob.
You’re probably right, a guy that will install a decktracker on his PC will generally try harder than a guy playing while pooping.
But in the end … they have the same rank, right ? Plus don’t forget that the MMR system makes you playing against players with the same play level you have.
At the time of the game, yes. But the way HSR gathers data, it doesn’t care about one’s rank later. You can end the month at Legend and your opponent can end at Gold, but if you were both Gold when the match happened, it goes to Gold stats.
What are the people generating the more data in a rank ? Those who have 8 to 10 bonus star staying from bronze to gold for like 10 games max, or people that are actually competing on those ranks all month long ?
Yes indeed. Pirates are small and fast and The Juggernaut is extremely good. It provides the equivalent of three free cards a turn.
3/3/3 for Raid The Docks, now!
In Wild, Pirate Warrior blows through 10-health Taunt walls on turn 3-4 with ease.
Just saying.
That would be me.
And that was under very specific conditions.
I started in bronze with one star because for the last year I haven’t really cared to ladder and had intentionally tanked my MMR to do my five weekly wins easily ever week. (win one, auto concede two, repeat).
I was at 75% win rate when I hit Diamond 10, but fell back closer to 60% between there and legend.
I also finished the grind with libram paladin because it just worked better at that level for me.
That 75% included a stretch where I went 23-2 in silver, which is just insanity, but the players I was against were just doing it wrong the whole time. Poorly optimized decks, misunderstanding what I was trying to do and letting me have free reign assuming their solitaire was going to win.
I would describe it as a noob killer, but there are priest lists that farm it as well as libram paladins that destroy it. Couple of the rogue lists are excellent as well, and I have seen half my games this morning against rogues, idk.
Wow, that’s wild.
… As in, crazy it can do that but this is a thread about standard ladder.
The problem is that if you play a deck specifically built to counter PW, you’re often getting just wrecked by everything else.
Playrate data on PW in Standard would be helpful for me. I can say with some certainty that it seems to be about 25-40% of Plat-Diamond in Wild, and that’s not feeling good at all lately.
No sir, the title is not “Nerf Pirate Warrior in Standard”, it is “Nerf Pirate Warrior” and we Wild players have a multiple of the reason you all do to want this thing put in check, lol. If you think it’s bad in Standard…
Seriously, you haven’t lived - or died - until you’ve died to Pirate Warrior in Wild going Ship’s Cannon on turn 1 with a Coin, then Turn 2 is the quest into a 1-drop and a Parachute Brigand and Patches, then Turn 3 is a Sky Raider into a Bloodsail Flybooter and Turn 4 an automatic activation of the quest…or any of probably a dozen similar lines.
Wild players exist, we have the right to speak, and you ought to listen to us too as we’re playing regularly against seven years’ of cards with lots of lessons to teach.
And in any case I’d like a statement from Blizz on whether or not they’re going to nerf this thing or not - because if not it’s going to dominate Wild for the next year, and be a baseline deck archetype, and even I’m going to craft the thing.
I cannot believe We live in a reality where we have handbuff Warrior and evolve Rogue.
But, here We are.
Class bleed has destroyed this game.
and the first post says standard…
Warriors have had handbuff effects since the days of Gadgetzan, they just weren’t as good at it as Paladin, so they never quite took off as the core mechanic of a deck.
I’ve never heard of Evolve Rogue. Could you clarify please? That deck must have slipped me by and sounds interesting.
the cariel card gives them evolve. I lost to it yesterday, lol.
What?
No, seriously, wtf are you on about? What card does this?
Did you play a burgle rogue that discovered an evolve?
do you by any chance mean Cerathine Fleetrunner? she just exchanges minions fo rminions from other classes, no evolve happening.
Cariel is the Paladin hero.
Perhaps it came from reconnassaince? I’m not sure. I’m looking for the match now on HSR.
Got it. Cerathine Fleetrunner. I remembered wrong as well. I won the match, but the card still evolves the Rogue deck and discounts it. Not completely unlike some cards I remember being cried about as too good.

The outcome is completely random: you can’t build a deck to get specific mana cost minions.
It also costs 5 mana, so we can conclude it’s not more powerful than a 2 mana deck of lunancy
It certainly performs just about as well though, with a pretty good body.
Anyhow My complaint wasn’t necessarily about this one card, just the amount of class bleed and what I see as hypocrisy for things that were screamed about in my class, but are apparently fine in other classes.
Back to message. Pirate Warrior now handbuffs the same way Pally does.
The class bleed is sickening these days. Every class does everything.
They just vary in how well they do them. #stupid
i don´t think she´s run in high legend by anyone.
i personally like the card, she can be good tempo, but only if you also play with cache. Still, for 5mana it´s not a especially broken card currently. And really depends on your hand and the situation if she´s usable at all.
All in all it´s a good fit for Burgle Rogue i think as a more fun legendary, not necessarily a terribly strong one.
