But of course the mages will ignore facts and telling that this one blemish of them not being there means the game is crap and have always been crap or something.

I’m not a mage main, but not having a 50%+ WR viable deck is probably something to indeed be annoyed about (especially when one hero has two).

All in all the meta is diverse and pretty healthy, and better than Barrens at similar point in time.

I think this is subjective - but I can see both sides. There is hero diversity, but the deck wincons are highly repetitive. Facing aggro priest or aggro druid doesn’t really feel much different than face hunter, IMO.
