Playing a Control Shaman right now at rank 8, I have several matchups that are near-impossible for me to win (Khadgar Mage, Bomb Warrior), and several that are a cakewalk for me unless I get terrible RNG (Zoolock, Mech Hunter).

Since you’re playing an attrition based game a deck which can break mana curves consistently will be an issue. Khadgar Mage is BY FAR my worst match-up although I am uncertain how you’re having issues with Bomb Warrior.

Both my victories and defeats feel unearned when the meta is so polarizing. There’s often very little ebb or flow to a game; it’s just one player steamrolling the other because they chose paper to the other player’s rock. It’s the same rock-paper-scissors meta that we had with Gadgetzan and Quest Rogue, where the matchup is more important than anything else.

Control Shaman will be VERY polarizing because you’re playing a very inflexible gameplan. What threat do you have for the opponent? Walking Fountain and RNG off of Big Bad Archmage ./snore for any deck which has removal… those minions are not real threats. On the flip side how would an non-Token Druid aggressive deck survive Shaman’s endless wave of AoEs?

Also, looking at your list (I’ll copy min below) I don’t understand how you’re not running Shudderwock. If the opposing Warrior is playing Archivst + Banker you will lose 100% of the time unless Elysiana gives you Shudderwock.

The below list, for me, is 9-3 against Warrior with 3-draws. I’ve out resource Bomb Warrior consistently and did it to the one Dragon Control Warrior I faced and he had 3x Dragon’s Roars (got 1 off of Firetree), 2x Vonn (Lynchen copied), so that is a pretty good indication of how much value I can generate and neither of us got our DKs until extremely late so it wasn’t Hagatha RNG that carried me.

The deck does very well against Warrior and Druid, does alright against Mech Hunter and Rogue, is slightly unfavored against Mech Paladin, and is curbstomped by Conjurer Mage.

You can feel free to look at the choices I made and do what you’d like but if you’re seeing 1.2 Warriors for ever Mage I’d run this list personally. There are also a lot of Token Druids (at least for me) and I don’t see how your list deals with TOken Druid at all.

Edit: I am not at all sold on Ysera or Zentinmo. I’d defend the other 28 card choices but those two I think could easily be changed to other options and could easily be an improvement on the deck.
