Mages' Deep Freeze should be 9 mana

If you’re facing a spell mage then you stop feeding minions into his AoE and use resources from a previous skull to activate Altruis. If you can’t do that and neither kill them before turn 8 then you lost the game

You can’t do much in the way of saving resources as a DH. It’s a sprinting deck, not a marathon deck. If the mage isn’t dead or almost dead by turn 8 you have probably lost either way. Altruis in no way can be counted on to stop a turn 8-9 mage from winning the game. Those cards need to be used before then ideally so the mage can be dead before it’s a problem. Mages don’t need to be nerfed. OP just needs to understand that DH is not a late game deck. Outlasting DH burst is a win condition for a lot of decks.

Deep Freeze is very often the Mage’s win condition against DH (also can be very strong against warrior, but they tend to have more removal). As a Big spell/casino Mage player I actually have a positive winrate against DH, but it’s very draw dependent, if you draw badly or they draw particularly well it’s usually game over.

I believe once the deep freeze goes out I generally win 80-90% of the time from there so long as I’m at stable hp (maybe 8 or higher).

Now if you want to talk unfair, try playing Mage verses Hunter right now, that’s a miserable matchup. If I get a Face Hunter I maybe have a 10-15% winrate; Dragon Hunter is maybe 20%, it would be higher if they would just stop DT Brann’ing me the turn before I kill them every other game it might be higher.

Salty DH main who lost to a lucky mage must throw fit and demand mana increase.
Let’s just raise everything by 1 mana because you can die from any card in the game.

thats exactly what high level players do vs slower matchups when the opponent is starting to take over the board

and if you get a discount on altruis with skull then the swing can be way higher than 6 dmg

There are a lot of ifs and you might not even draw the card before the game ends. You cannot play your whole hand around Altruis. If you’re getting totally screwed sometimes you can pray for the stars to align and sometimes they do. The relevance of Altruis is in a DH deck is massively overstated by people that are salty about losing to it from time to time.

Says the Demon hunter wich are overpowered and have broken the game, sorry but have to laugh at this post, shame on you…

as a mage DHs are the bane of my existence I had a match today I thought I was doing realy well he was summoning mass creatures I was either killing them or keeping them from attacking me with taunt defenders

until turn 6 …. he cast a 4 cost skull of guldan
my turn 6 I cleared the board and finaly did him some damage
his turn 7 he casts nethrandamus for 4 mana I don’t remember what the 2 extra 10 mana summons were but they were both 8/8 at the end of his turn I was cleared he had 5 creatures and there was nothing in my hand that could save me

if you gonna lie atleast get the mana cost right :slight_smile:

its not a lie I checked befour I quit at some point he reduced the cost of cards in his deck by 1 (twice) then reduced skull of guldan to 4 mana

the skull drew nethrandamus and reduced it by another 3 meaning as a 9 cost card it cost 4 mana

Out of all the broken things out right now, we are complaining about deep freeze?

im using 2 in my deck they help late game
but against a DH games usualy over by turn 8 im looking to swap them out and im only at bronze 4

yea ive prob got a bad deck too im still working on it
