Every top deck that has ever been nerfed has a counter.
Did that deck have multiple counters?
Mage will be old news in a couple days anyway since Paladin has a much better deck at the moment.
Who cares if they have a Turn 7-8 OTK when they can’t live past Turn 6?

Mage has like a 20% win rate against Rogues also slot in Robes of Protection on a Paladin deck and thats pretty much 0% win rate for the Mage.
But that not the problem people dont care about the win rates the class had tier 4 decks nerfed before why wouldnt people cry to the heavens when its on tier 2(and falling fast).
Oh for real, broken winrates or not, i’ve never felt so much before like matchups could be decided immediately by the first quest card played ever before in my life.
Not in a “well, i’m at a 60 vs 40% disadvantage”, but like a
“Oh great. The wild warlock just played a quest and im wild Raza quest priest, i can win against any other deck by default, but this matchup is like 10% to 90%. I will likely just die to a 3 mana 5/5: Battlecry deal 20-30+ damage to your opponent for 2 mana and gain 10 armor card.”
Unless they literally never draw either apothacary or crystalizer, ever. i don’t think i can get my current iteration to work, but i guess i do have a burn mage… But the idea of their quest turning explosive runes into a free 12 damage for their quest (on their turn, bleh). really… doesn’t sound like either the fun i’m looking for playing aggro vs aggro… or the joy of giving 12 damage to them.
I think my only out on the priest is like… pray to god their draws are so horrible and crystalizer and apothecary never get drawn. (and they have 2 of each, + massive 1 mana draw 3) so… yeah idk.
Honestly im glad they did it, but i really hope we get a nerf soon like one week in, or at least even a temporarily suspension of quests for a week while they figure out what to do. Something like a 2-3 damage cap on the warlock quest, or 10 damage a turn or patching crystalizer’s + Apothecary’s interactions to not trigger it in wild for 20-30 damage otks + 10 armor building a board could be nice.
I’m a big fan of the idea of mirroring the damage, but i think that would entirely kill the warlock, to which i say. Good riddance. (Or, perhaps, half the damage is dealt to both hero).
Mage, i haven’t seen in wild yet, but i imagine that could be a issue.
I like the idea of testing increasing mana costs on the quest rewards to throttle progress a bit, or like toning the damage down to like +2 spell damage the rest of the game, or like. Maybe +3 spell damage for only the first spell they play each turn, etc.
The obvious nerf that would fix most of these problems would be to make cost reduction not go below 1. It would fix mage, priest (back when priest was a “problem”, and it would seriously hamper warlock. It wouldn’t really hurt pally too much at this point.
In fact, do away with zero cost spells all together. Lightning bloom gave us evolve shaman and the brief period when guardian druid was oppressive.
But I’ve seen some very good celestial druid decks that spoke the really obnoxious quests hard, so I’m going to try them next. That copy a two or less mana minion card was the missing piece, I think
Every single game is against shaman still, yet mage is the problem.
its not that mage is Bad, its more like all other relevant deck are broken AF and need HUGE nerfs.
Priest and DH are literlly heavy Agrro / face deck who can kill you in turn 5 and when they missed it they still have a free late game OTK.
Then there are the Handbuff and the Zoo/aggro Hunter which also a way to broken
And all other decks (inculding protoss mage) are surival decks with 100+ life/armor with 8+ Field clear cards and combs
Blizzard need to kill all this free OTK mechanics with hard nerfes and also need to Fix this face decks by slowing them also down with extrem hard nerfes.
The actuall game make Mid range Decks a instant loose, that horrible
