When it first released My daughter and i played it and we were in the same room together. Needless to say after about 3 hours we got bored winning every lobby. It’s an insane advantage to be able to converse with your partner in real time in that mode. Emoting just doesn’t get it done.
They recently had a $2K BG private tournament and they required that Jeef and Babbit not be partners. They had to be split up. They came in first and second respectively and just split the prize.

You know how for standard BGs, there isn’t a button to skip combat, but everyone who matters knows how to skip combat. You get around it by restarting the client.
Well in a similar way, there isn’t a voice chat feature, but I can’t imagine people playing Duos without Discord at least. It should just assumed that voice comms are part of the mode, even if it’s not technically included. Anyone who isn’t using Discord (or IRL proximity) for Duos isn’t really serious.
There’s nothing cheating with playing a team game with people you are in actual contact with. It’s actually a mistake to NOT do it if you care about ranking.
That applies to every game with no exception; e.g. try to play World of Wacraft raiding without actual friends (at least online); it’s horrific to do mythic.

You have anger issues. It was closer to a figure of speech because it gave the impression that you think it’s an advantage you shouldn’t have.

Do people fall on their sword to let their teammate not lose rank and push forward? Aka, leave the game before they lose and take a big rank hit so their buddy doesn’t lose any?
