It's only mages and more mages

i disagree. WF was never a problem until Team 5 decided to turn mage into some kind of glorified Paladin or whatever minion based class it is supposed to be right now.
Colossals, The frozen minions, the 40 card, etc… coupled with the WF is too much, but Wf is meh at best on its own, and I speak from experience.
There isn’t a single WF deck in Wild just running HP that can perform much better than 47/8%.
Team five needs to take mages back to spells and let class bleed die.

I think this thread is sponsored by Puffs plus (with lotion) with all the crying I see. I understand amulet mage is doing too well, but the suggestions would, unsurprisingly, kill mage completely. I know that is what you mage haters want, but how about we address the cards that are actually keeping amulet mage on top.

Deepwater Evoker - this card can be responsible for up to 20 armor per game, thus keeping amulet mage out of aggro range. Make this cost 5, maybe make it a 4/4.

Amplified snow flurry - this card has single handedly won so many games against demon hunter and rogue its insane. The card is necessary due to weapons, but maybe it costs 3 and becomes a 3/3, or loses an attack.

Solid alabi - in most cases its iceblock for 2 mana that can be recurred through commander shivara. 3 mana isnt too outlandish but i also feel like it could potentially ruin the card.

Dawngrasp hero - id say if this card goes to 8 mana, guff MUST go to 6, tavish must go to 7, tamsin must go to 7. Dawngrasp at 7 is just barely able to keep up with some of the crazy tempo that comes in later turns.

Maybe location, but too be honest thats too many things, so picking and choosing would be required.

Do not nerf: Wildfire, Reckless apprentice, or mordresh. These cards are the backbone keeping mage from collapsing against aggro.

I know yall hate mage, but Quest hunter and priest do well against it. It’s probably just the deck’s yall are using.

how about you dont call ppl haters to start with your meaning is not more valid than Theres.

Lol. Tavish doesn’t need a nerf. You must be joking. The reason you see quest hunter so much is because they don’t rely on the board.

People are sick of 5 turn freezes. I am playing beast hunter and do well against but sometimes I really wanna go boring quest hunter after seeing 4th mage in a row and having 10 min game where everything gets endlessly frozen.

Dawngrasp needs a nerf so the location and other mage bullcrap.

You are making the assumption people hate the deck because they are not doing well against it. People can hate something even though they are better than it, you realize that right? Again this is what im constantly trying to get through to this games competitive/meta obsessed players. Plenty of us dont give a crap about win rate. Plenty of us just want to have fun and play an interactive game with some back and forth. Broken cards and combos kill that fun, even if the deck I currently play Trumps whatevers broken.

I wanted Dentharius nerfed into the god damn ground but iv only actually lost to the card 3x. Iv only played Implock once or twice to get an idea for it and than like most Warlock decks I auto concede because they just are not freaking fun to play against.

Its beyond arrogant how many of you just assume every person is competitive or must suck or or or insert any number of broken excuses to defend a broken card.

Edit - Priest is another great example. I auto concede against Priest and a lot of other people do as well. Not because OMG Priest = Game Loss. But because its just not a fun class to play a game against. You cant blame people for not wanting to play annoying or luck based decks.

i love how you complain that everyone insult everyone and thats what you do in EVERY POST. calling people hypocrites obsessed players and all kind of names. but hey to each their own right?

oh and btw the game is tuned around COMPETTITIVE PLAY! what happen in casual mode have ZERO EFFECTS on balance patches. i never seen anyone auto concede a game in standard. you keep saying thing like ALOT OF OTHER PPL AUTO CONCEDE TO PRIEST! yet i played thief priest for 3 4 days this week and seen ZERO CONCEDE. stop acting like your experiences is the same as the majority of the player base. cause guess what the majority of the player base play standard not casual!

can you c it? 2000000000000000000000000

Everyone here seems to have a problem with big heropower mage, while I am chilling with a random dawngrasp in my deck because it replays spells and if I kill one of my skeletons I can deal 4 damage for 2 mana every turn which is already game winning

the big hero power is just one several things.
clear the board refill your own board and doing hero dmg all at once is another.

People don’t like Hero Power Mage because after the Mage plays Dawngrasp, you are quite literally punished for trying to play minions. The fact that Mage now has a million incredibly efficient freezes, Solid Alibi, and Deathborne only further fuels this.
You said Quest Priest and Hunter do well against Spooky/HP Mage? Well, ever consider they are both decks that just straight up win from hand? Now what does that tell us what HP Mage currently does to minion based decks?

As a priest player, the thing that bothers me the most is that mages can have everything at once. Nice aoe, big burst, board control, survivability even in some situations they can play as an aggro deck. They have more than 4 win conditions and this is absurd i think. They can win with denatrius or skeletons or boosted hero power or dragons or random spells.

But as a priest player I can’t combine my shadow form with my quest on my priest deck. My only chance is to finish my quest before they boost their hero power and hope my quest card isn’t stolen or eaten.

Let’s ignore the priest. I love playing control decks. I tried almost all priest, warlock and paladin control variations. Almost all of them have a win rate below 20% against Mage. Only one priest deck has a 46% win rate. I’m stuck in Diamond 5 and no matter what I play, I hardly come across any deck other than mage.

Another match that I lose almost every match is quest hunter and everyone already knows why.

I don’t hate these decks. However, they are so unstable that they kill my desire to play the game. For example, I’m playing curse warlock. With my 6 cost card, I can only hit all minions once and for 4 damage. A card describing the cost/damage balance. So, is it cost/damage balance to be able to hit 9-10 damage with a 2 mana hero power and do it regularly?

I think what they have to do is simple. Mage hero card should gain +1 instead of +2, Reckless Apprentice should never hit heroes, 9 random magic card should not work one-sided. Additionally, they shouldn’t be able to replay Gray Sage Parrot, a low-cost spell whose mana cost has been changed. It says 5 or more cost, but repeating a spell they played for 2 or 1 mana is nonsense.

But I can’t see any solution for quest hunter. There are very few cards that block spells or increase cost, making the quest hunter almost unstoppable. Maybe making the hero power 1 cost instead of 0 would be a solution, or if the hero power will be 0, the cost of the spells in your hand can be increased by 1. I do not know. I haven’t won more than 1-2 matches against the quest hunter with any deck I have.

Finally, I think the mage is a much bigger issue because I don’t encounter the same number of quest hunters. I hope they can balance the heroes again.(And please let us use the shadow form somehow with the quest)
