Is muting opponent a sign of irrespect

Damn you are overthinkining simple emotes.

It’s not an attack, I actually somewhat admire your tenacity.

But it’s been an absolute failure in all respects, so I wonder how it’s worth the effort.

Well thanks. Perhaps I was a little too sensitive about the comment. And you have offered quality oppositional debate on the subject, which has helped me fine tune my position.

For the most part, yes. There have been some signs of hope from Blizzard, but as there have been no real improvements implemented at all, I’d agree that the efforts have yet to show any success. They haven’t even made an effort to fix the fundamental flaw that the squelch can fall off mid-match on mobile devices. But I shall not give up the fight! NGUNS!!

Meh… the rants are kind of fun to write (and to read) and electrons are free.

What do you mean by this? I’ve never experienced it.

There’s a card that is normal to disable the squelch for the opponent. I don’t remember which. Maybe it’s a Hero card.

I love making fun of players with emotes, I damage the game, I damage others and I’m happy about it

Do you play on a mobile device? If you have any interruption to your signal, the squelch can fall off and must be reapplied. If you get in an elevator, the squelch can fall off and must be reapplied. If you get a phone call, the squelch can fall off and must be reapplied. If you simply get a text, the squelch can fall off and must be reapplied. If you get a game crash and have to relaunch the game, the squelch can fall off and must be reapplied. I don’t know all the triggers for losing squelch, but it seems to be something with an interruption to the communication with the server (even if it’s extremely brief). It happens far too often. But if squelch were a toggle, this problem is eliminated, since your chosen squelch ā€œstatusā€ is saved like your choice of language, sound level, screen resolution, etc.

Relaunching the game from a crash or orher shutdown is the only one I’ve noticed, and I’m not sure how that’s avoidable.

It’s 100% avoidable. If the squelch setting is like all the other settings in the game, it will be active when you relaunch.

If you are playing on cell data, see what happens if you take a phone call and then go back to the game. Far too often you will find that the opponent is no longer squelched.

People would have to call me for that to be testable.

Yes. You’d need friends. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

And to be fair, almost all the calls I get are scams or telemarketers. Sometimes I talk to them when I’m feeling lonely.
