Is anyone enjoying Battlegrounds at the moment?

I’m enjoying it as playing around with new season stuff is always fun, but there’s such a noticeable power difference between the tribes that it’s kind of throttling the burgeoning meta. I can’t remember the last lobby I play with Mechs in that wasn’t dominated by them.

They normally do patches for BG’s much faster. Should be one this week. If you look at their competition like TFT , which is light years better but more complicated. They patch immediately when something is out of balance. Then again they also test their game so egregious cards and interactions aren’t released.

Me i am just playing TFT till the patch comes and the rough spots are smoothed out.

Apparently you do not if you are still out here being rude.

I am unsure what you are trying to express because this was where I entered this discussion with you.

This was the start.

Are you still contending that you were not offered a trinket that worked with your board on the major trinket slot, or were you offered an elemental trinket that you did not want or know how to use?

My preferences are not at issue here; however, I rather clearly stated that I am comfortable getting top four with either one of the two you mentioned.

You have a source for this assertion beyond confirmation bias?

This is what I have been doing. I am pretty new to the game so I have just been forcing reroll comps and learning.

Not really, I’m too lazy to read the trinkets topic,
But if i was wrong i knew one of you would correct me.
Thanks man.

I do not know if you are correct or not, which is why I asked for the source of the claim other than your own guess.

It would be useful information if you are correct.

Discovering a tier 6 minion with 20/20 stats is real strong, having 2 refreshes of tier 6 minions each turn is real weak

Some anomalies were horribly boring, but at least if it was an awful one it was awful for everyone, and you know right away so you can just concede. Now you need to wait to see if you got lucky

I don’t get the quillboar one that makes the bristlebach play a gem on all your minions, are quillboar players expected to be menagerie? Why would you have non quillboars at that point in the game? You might have a baron but that’s it?
Edit - the golems I guess

I just took first place with that trinket cuz i knew i didnt have to waste any gold at all tiering up to 5 or 6. I ended up with 3 golden butterflies and 2 golden ostriches a golden turquois skitterer, and a golden t6 naga that played the spell at end of turn to the minion to its left, my first trinket choice was the avenge 4: tavern spells add like 1 or 2 more attack for rest of game.

how could getting 2 refreshes each turn with guaranteed all cards (including tavern spells) being t6 regardless of how many should or shouldnt be in the tavern still being able to continue finding more and more when they should all be gone from the pool already possibly be a weak option? perhaps the tribes available might skew the viability of the trinket but Im telling you dont knock it.

Because blood gems played from hand count as spells, so many players use naga buffs and mech spell generators with them to scale faster with greater options.

Single tribe builds were not as effective in the last couple patches.

For example, if you have a minion that buffs four of tribe A when you do X, then having exactly four of tribe A is the optimal play in many cases. Those other three spots are to improve other parts of game state like - Brann, Baron, Taunts for cleaves, etc.

Tried like 5 games since the update not played it since. Its to imbalanced and i think the previous meta was better.

It’s hard to enjoy it when it keeps crashing. However, besides that, I actually enjoy this season.

Your first statement is incorrect. Making one 20/20 vs getting round after round of nothing but tier 6 minions in certain lobbies is worthless. You go ahead and make that one 20/20 while I make a whole build from tier 6 minions.

Pure Tribe builds are rarely ever the best build in this meta. Currently Elementals do it but they are also 100% broken and will get their needed nerf soon. Outside of that all builds that are good especially in this meta pull from different tribes. Knowing the minion pool this season is paramount when deciding your hero to play and your first trinket. The trinkets that aren’t tribe related are generally the most powerful and useful.

Once the elementals get toned down this season will be the best in a while with how diverse the builds are and how underpowered full tribes are in general.

Elementals need toning down significantly.

Two days later, things look be solidifying, not shifting. Mechs can be beaten but with very high rolls from other tribes, as where Mechs don’t even need to roll that high to snowball. It’s becoming oppressive.

How could we not enjoy battlegrounds? It was developed by the greatest development team ever (may their herbs be fresh and wholesome)! It is the pinnacle of gaming fun!

This meta is pointless. Wait until get trinket, roll dice === “No chance of winning” or “Maybe competetive” or “I win the game, LOL”

No agency. My choices don’t matter many times. And I have to wait 5-8 minutes into the game to find out.

I just dislike how if you’re a tribe that doesn’t summon a bunch of stuff in the middle of combat, and murlocs are available, your opponent can just disregard his whole strategy and go full poisonous/venomous/summon murlocs from hand build with a few leeroys and win. Doesn’t work if I’m mechs/beasts/undead, but god forbid I want to play dragons or elementals and scale my board into the thousands, here comes timmy with his failed pirates strategy and oh wait he pivoted his whole board, I lose.

But my favorite board made so far was beasts. Got a trinket for deathrattle triggers buff right most minion +6/+6, as well as a “trigger all deathrattles at the start of combat”. Now, I was SUPPOSED to get a shimmerwing moth and infinitely scale the beetles. Didn’t happen, non beasts players bought them all strategically. So, for a while I was buffing Rivendare to around 350s, until…

Spotted a Sinrunner Blanchy. And I thought, what the hell, let’s play it and buff Blanchy to kingdom come. Was still doing beetles with the rest of the board, but they didn’t scale quickly enough to matter. No, here comes the 1000s stats Blanchy with reborn taking out other beasts boards with their 100s stats beetles. Oh he dies, lol okay he comes back with 1k stats again. GG, didn’t need shimmerwing.

You realize the best beetle build is played with Undead right? That’s why they were taking them.

Personally I find undead and beasts are almost never in the same lobby. I know the build you speak of though.
Many of my beast builds are quite sub optimal because, well, its quite competitive finding the correct pieces. You just make what you can, not what is best.

Also if your build is constantly giving attack buffs there’s no reason not to take the moth.

Reading these comments it seems like people really do not understand what trinkets can do and how to optimize them.

I think many of the lower ELO lobbies are filled with people hitting low hanging fruit from the new card pool, but there are some really spicy things cooking if you look a bit deeper into this set.
