Impossible to win

If 50% are advancing in some way, then 50% are stuck. Should the stuck players stop playing and go away? If they do, a new 50% will be struck.

Sub-Legend, that’s not true. Bonus stars, win streak stars and tier floors (not to mention Bronze immunity) mean that winning at those levels gets you more stars than losing loses. Pretty much everyone can enjoy climbing to Silver 10, since the fact that you never lose stars in Bronze means it only needs a bit of persistence–with x2 bonus stars (the minimum possible) 23 wins will get you there, no matter how many losses. Less if you had win streaks. It only becomes zero-sum at Diamond 5, where the win streak stars stop and you’ll be out of bonus stars if you weren’t High Legend the previous month. At that level, it’s largely true that for anyone to win a star, someone else has to lose one (and even then you have the Diamond 5 floor). That’s why players who reach that level often feel like they’ve hit a brick wall there.

What a badass. /s

Imagine thinking your great at Hearthstone because you got to legend lol.

Not sure how long you’ve been playing but it used to mean you were really good at the game. With the broken decks consistently being released almost anyone can make it now. I would imagine over 90% of the people that have made legend wouldn’t have if those decks didn’t exist. You can easily tell while playing in legend ladder and the majority of your opponents make a ton of mistakes. I’m not sure where the breakpoint is, but probably ranks 1 - 1,000 or so are actual legend skilled players.

If it’s impossible to win then how is there a winner in each match?

Platinum is very easy rank in comparison to diamond.

At least for me.

I once won 1 game, darn it felt so good.

Actually, I only consider myself ‘above average’.

If I can get get to Legend while playing on four accounts while still working full-time as a dentist on a busy week full of patients I am probably better than you then. LOL.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I’m the complete opposite.

I got bored with winning and logged off. So much winning. So little time. Figured others needed a chance, so I’m taking a break.

Probably cause you start playing against people with complete decks and expensive decks.

Today is yet again not my day. Forced to lose 14 games in a row. From 172 legend to 440. Counter after counter. Play decks with just a few cards above 3 mana - draw them all before any 1 drop… Also lose to the worst off meta decks… Tell me it’s not rigged  No thanks Blizzard, take your bs to your grave with you  I hope you get what you deserve.

That’s tough.

I had another great day. So much winning. All I did was win. XP and Gold piling high.

nope its obv a paywall, ur idea of my opponents has nothing to do with my unplayable ordered cards drawn

It is, but not as easy as bronze-gold. It’s ~ 1h+ to platinum, 2h+ from plat-D5, and a mind numbing 5+ hours or more from D5-legend for me usually.

It gets to be a drag yea, but that’s the nature of grinding. That doesn’t have anything to do with its being “rigged” though, as much as it does to do with star bonuses and people just being less willing to play suboptimal decks when they’re almost done with the grind.

If you are still playing on stars bonus at platinum, your opponents should be exactly the same as your bronze-gold opponents except you’ll get fewer stars from wins.
