Not that I not understand what you’re saying but considering the insane amount of things I liked in game that we can’t have again because people whined…
No. I don’t want.
Heroic tavern brawls with actual tavern rules(yes. Tavern brawls being played in arena format).
Skins given in free adventures that people whined because they did feel “forced to play”.
All of that and some more gone exactly because people did the opposite of what you said.
Now i the one who don’t want to get ladder competitiveness rekt because someone wanna get free stuff and i gonna stick with it.
but noone actually forced to play → there is no loss at all
the same stuff that noone forced to complete the quests - it’s optional
everyone demands bonuses on their personal terms and ready to reject potentially good ideas (free stuff is good) if they cannot exploit / abuse these at full scale
You miss the point. Yes, technically you’re not being ‘forced’ to do anything. However, as I said, the feeling is that you are being forced to play X class because it’s, for instance, double XP or what have you. That’s not a good feeling. On that basis, I am against this idea.
I think the response to this has a lot to do with the state of the game and Blizzard in general. It feels like instead of balance, they are trying to force a more diverse meta through a lazy “fix”. If the game was in a more balanced state already, this would be received much differently.
Class Bonus Events wouldn’t have been a good thing in the Barrens Meta.
At one point in the Meta, Warlock was only 1% playrate and Mage was <5%. Both classes seemed like they were “banished” to a low playrate because Tickatus made Warlock unfun to play against and Incanter’s Flow made Mage unfun to play against.
Artificially increasing either Classes playrate would have made the game worse at the time…
This Meta, Warrior stands out as the 10th/dumpster class. Warrior is just weak, it’s fun to play against, so Class Bonus Events might be a success. for now.
Once the system exists though, another Barrens will come along and the system will be a negative.
I have a friend who literally cannot make a deck to participate in the tavern brawl this week because he has less than thirty total cards from the expansions chosen. That sucks. He needs the pack. If they implement the random class bonus like they did this brawl, I will hard pass on the idea. If more modes than ranked standard are available, it might be fun.
The bonus xp is great and it would be fun. If you could play in any of three ranked modes, I would support this plan.
I don’t see the bonus stars as a negative at all. If you get rewards for the mode based on how high you climb, seems like this would be a way to help people get more rewards while trying something new. Also, once one reaches legend there are no more stars so it isn’t really going to upset anyone applecart if players get more stars than every before.
I generally think it might be fun and the concerns people have seem selfish at best.
It is limiting for F2P players. On the other hand, I myself am mostly F2P (bought 2-3 promo packs, which offered something like 30 decks?) and I can create competitive decks for most classes, maybe except priest (no quest, no shadow legendary) and rogue (no quest).
Even if I would be limited to 2-3 classes, I would not mind this, as there would be plenty of people playing unoptimized decks they have 0 experience playing and that would improve my winrate a lot.
Imagine meeting somebody, who has only experience with some braindead deck like face hunter, quest mage or secret paladin trying to figure out some new class, which is much more complex.
This would definitelly improve winrate of players, who can play different classes or who will stay with their class and just farm these players.
Cool. So one person who isn’t complaining because they or others they know can’t get maximum benefit. Just because it’s not about you doesn’t mean it’s not entitlement. you’re just feeling it on others’ behalf.
Selwynn your friend and anyone else with no cards from those expansions can compete in this weeks tavern brawl, just go a head and it gives you a random deck to play with.
this is such a bad analogy first we are paying blizzard not the other way around lol. getting resources in a game made for children is no the same as money, people work for money we should not have to work to play a game.
if they took quest out of the game and buffed the rewards track, most people would actually be trilled. not being forced to play parts of the game that people find unfun is a pretty easy fix.
when they add a new a mode or rebalance a mode its fine to have a quest or two to get people to try but there is no reason to have weekly/daily quest forcing people to play things they don’t want to.
