I hate seeing the old boards

There’s a board? I never really noticed.

I do like Hearthstone a great deal. And I understand that the corporation who provides the game expects to make a great deal of money from it. If that number drops low enough, the game will be terminated.
So you can have the game with pay game boards, or you can get a new game.
Your choice.

Yes. There’s probably only one hundred people worldwide who care about this like you do, and the lot of you aren’t going to make enough purchases to pay for a single person’s salary. New boards are a nothingburger, and me and pretty much everyone else would prefer that developer attention be directed elsewhere.

Btw I have personally taken a Blizzard survey where one of the questions was about boards. I answered that I didn’t care at all, because I don’t. Then about eight months later, they announce that they’re not doing a new board every expansion. Seems to me that the decision was based on data, and the data says you’re alone.

may your own grievances ever fall on deaf ears

I think that if more respondents had agreed with you, and less with me, then we wouldn’t even be having this discussion. Instead, you’d have a new Perils board.

But they didn’t agree with you. They, as in not me.

I wonder if there’s a bias in their methodology. I mean you play for a billion years. Newer players would probably not even have the skill to even notice what a survey is and randomly click away before reading there’s an available survey.

This was impossible.

a few of the old boards are broken

This was pointed out on Reddit. It was confirmed that they had disabled some of the boards effects and even dropped texture on quite a few of them.

forever? or like for now?
why did they do it?

Nobody knows but they apparently have all been gone through and there’s a bunch of changes mostly texture based. I am guessing they figured nobody would recognize it or even care. It’s not even known how long ago these changes were made.

well we noticed it for sure

I think making boards for profit is a smart idea. I just wish they had implemented it a long time ago, along with card backs.
I also would like to see a new format that displays card backs better. Having achievement, holiday, and special event card backs be free would be plenty, imo.
POE has operated for years as purely f2p because cosmetics keep the game in business.

you are without a doubt one of the least compassionate people i have ever met.

Can you explain to me what being compassionate has to do with cosmetics in a f2p game that do not affect performance, or gameplay whatsoever?
I’m afraid you have lost me, smh.

I completely agree.

That said, with the system of non-purchasable rotating boards already in place, it’s tough to reverse course now.

I’ll also mention that, as someone who appreciates the aesthetics of a game as much as the gameplay, Hearthstone’s boards have never really stood out to me.
They feel more like background filler.

And that’s coming from someone whose subconscious can stop me from putting a card in my deck simply because it’s ‘ugly.’
