I cant stand the priest "class identity"

Please to Christmas do not get me started on Warrior’s BC package…It was bad enough and unfun when everyone had Brann, but at least his removal was it.

Yeah, DK is my favorite class and i liked having a deck where CNE was playable. Unfortunately it’s been pushed out of the meta by many other decks and Warriors ability to be the last say on long game decks.

Why are the devs ok with this? Like “ok we got rid of Steamcleaner, open the worm-can”. We now have to contend with this, meta “refreshed” or not, until next April. This version of Warrior, that is.

I think a lot of people have bigger worries than the random priest copying their win con. How many priests do you even face on a daily basis? What irks me more is facing druid only to have them use that Doomkin 3-4 turns in a row to prevent me from getting enough mana to actually DO anything while they’re still able to ramp up to 10 mana. There are a lot worse things in the game than having face a Priest that has to rely on getting lucky enough to copy useful cards from their opponent or taking advantage of opponent misplays. Even more proactive Priest decks have glaring weaknesses that are easy for other classes to take advantage of. Priest has had only a couple of decent decks over the past 5 years and those invariably get gutted or have key cards rotate out without replacements to slot in.

To use this deck, copy it to your clipboard and create a new deck in Hearthstone

I’ve been running this and doing fine on my way to diamond 5. It’s a fun deck with a flexible strategy. I wish it had a few more discovers to make it a little more varied, but I’m enjoying playing it, at least.

As a dk player, let me know if you have any suggestions (I don’t play the class a ton).

This is the only reason anyone plays priest no matter what other excuses you are given.

They don’t know what they want priest identity to be so they give it the power to have all the power it wants by copying, reproducing, and stealing better than rogues can when that should be their class identity

It makes for incredibly long boring games where the priest generates an extra 30 cards by the time the match is over

Class identities. Funny concept. Much like paying actual mana cost for stuff or having to manage resources. Or being able to influence the outcome of the match.

Funny ideas devs shouls try to implement.

Removing the ability to play Shadow Priest from the class was quiet possibly the most confusing decision of this rotation. Did it really hurt to let priest have a shadow deck? I honestly found those old undead shadow priest decks fun to play. You could create some interesting decks that were either aggressive or controlling.

It goes too far these days, just like everything in the game.

Indeed it did, because those decks could win at a high level and didnt fit the mold to be nerfed over feelings.

Long story short its borderline illegal to have the class in a competive state that mirrors the other agressive ones.

Shadow priest was/is very similar to Burn mage.
Too fast/good be allowed to exist in Priest.
SP is still a thing in Wild.
BM is not. They killed it completely.
You are 100% right.

I disagree but i understand your position.

This is hearthstone in a nutshell.

Everyone here is used to pull wins by RNG here and there.

And let’s be fair here…
Nowadays hearthstone decks being overly focused on a single win condition is why someone get salty no matter how the game ends.

You have sucess executing it?
Your opponent is salty now because it has been seem one mile away but it ended being inevitable.

Your opponent disrupts you?
Now you are salty.

No one can disrupt anyone?
The game just turned into a race and whoever is talking about this is right.

i like the part about these effects being best vs decks with strong standalone cards

but copying is pretty much useless vs synergistic deck types like any tribe focused deck anyone running those cards knows how useless they are vs deck like implock or pirate decks

If it were say, one card like mind control, I would be ok with it.
I doubt very many players like having their entire hand/deck stolen, win, lose, or draw.
Plus; the cards keep getting more tutored, so that thief decks can play as well or better than the players actually running the deck.

10 years ago when the game came out, giant priest was the thing. They didn’t know what to do with it then and they don’t know what to do with it now

Same here my man.
I just instant concede against Priest, Druid and Questline Warlock in wild.

Priest used to be the control/buff up big minions class that had limited ability to get random cards from the opponent’s class. Over time they seem to have lost the big minion aspect, even though Inner Fire has long been gone from Standard. Why paladin and DK are allowed to create massive minions (with paladin’s having charge at that) while Priest gets a big middle finger from Blizzard is beyond me. They need to bring back this flavor of Priest imo. Tempo priest doesn’t work well and never will, mostly due to the class’s innate lack of draw and tutoring. Overheal priest was a joke and half-baked from the get-go. They nerfed the heck out of dragon priest as soon as people learned how to use it. So what’s left? Same old copycat Priest…because apparently that’s all Blizzard wants them to do.
