Hunter turn 5 OTK

OK that sounds good, well assuming it’s timed well. Theoretically it can be wasted.

Velarok gave me the priest taunt / lifesteal / deathrattle kill a random enemy against one the other day.

It killed their big grunt after the first swing.

run rat and punish them for having 1 minion in hand

its the only hunter deck running that many hand buffs so its easy to tell they have it

How ?? warsong grunt itself is 5 mana

Except the hunter buffs it with this to reduce its cost to 3 mana. So the combo actually costs just 5.

Dang that deck is pretty good against a ramp druid. They took forever to bring down yogg and an 8/8 elusive but their 30hp/+50 armor or whatever was not enough and they were OTK’ed anyway. But it seemed a bit niche.

The board I had was terrible up to that point. Seems very low probability to win against early good boards.

Divine shields prevent additional attacks, so, there’s another way to limit, or stop it.

What would the card do, then? Send even more damage into an already-dead minion? Trample is a fine mechanic, and it has become a hunter specialty; if you redesign AaBJ, you kill an entire archetype and multiple decks. No, thanks.

Well they had no problem nerfing seabreeze chalice to not going face and that card was less punishing than this card. So it’s about time they were consistent and got rid of all these half baked face damage cards that result in decks that feel awful to play against rather than wait until rotation.

If they put big grunt with abj and your only answer is to play one minion a turn you will die eventually.

Easy fix to the deck. Make the Grunt Elusive. It still retains it’s ability to be buffed and remove a board but no longer can have the spell put on it to overly punish players playing to the board. You can still play this style of deck but you need to play it through Hound.

Most of those fixes are not fixes, they are deletions of the deck. I’m not saying the deck should definitely not be deleted but that’s what those changes would do.

I don’t find the deck too offensive compared to the average deck of the meta, but I tend to not like slow-burning decks so I wouldn’t easily see its power.

The deck does exist but you have to work for it more and your opponents can still play the game to the board including a wide board without fear of an OTK unless it’s much later in the game.

In a sense the deck is closer to a control deck than an aggro deck in the way it lethals. It has a very mediocre early game and then the opponent either dun goofs in the mid game and gives them a lot of small minions or they are allowed in late game to have very big minions on hand.

The late game of the deck is relatively inoffensive because late game itself is very overpowered in this game anyway (e.g. Boomboss for a ludicrous example (or a druid spamming on the board the whole library of 10 cost cards of the game etc.)).

That’s literally all the card does.

Tbh hasn’t hunter done turn 5 kill since the beginning of Hearthstone? Turn 1 I feel icky turn 2 put this apple on your head turn 3 pig missile turn 4 unleash hounds and arcane face arrow turn 5 herp power and killer face command

It’s neither, it’s a combo deck, plain and simple.

I know if I’m going to give it a basic title and call it a day. I was talking there about the way it lethals people. It’s often extremely late to the point of reminding of the lateness of a control deck.

To be very early the opponent probably dun goofed,

which explains its win rate is unimpressive.

I made D5-Legend today playing this deck using a version with 2x Catch of the Day and 1x Food Fight, so it can create its own tiny minions which won me a decent amount of games vs Warrior and Druid.

Some games the deck completely wiffed on draw but for the most part getting Exarch Naielle out early allowed me to discover the necessary wincons. Exarch Naielle herself is relatively easy to pull early because of Birdwatching. I only lost twice D2-Legend.

Somewhat sad my 12 month Legend-with-Priest streak was broken but Priest is in a sad state atm outside of Zarimi which is pretty dull at this point.

I just came to post about this! There’s nothing you can do with most decks. I’m playing my death knight minions, as one does, only to get OTK’d turn 7. Oops guess I should have ran Colifero into Unkilliax!? My bad.

Lol, you can just run Dirty Rat into Asphyxiate.
