Hearthstone app is stuck as long as I am not focusing on it (i.e. changing to other softwares or sliding screens). The problem occurs after the last update.

I’m having the same issue as well. Current work around is to run the client in windowed mode.

They are working on a fix.
Just wanted to add that setting frame rate to “Low” fixes the issue entirely for me.

fullscreen mode + low graphics you mean?
Able to avoid the issue with the following settings:
Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Quality: High
Frame Rate: Low
Full Screen: Enabled
2560x1440
Quality: low
Frame Rate: low
Full screen: enabled
only works for me, if i set quality to “high” it’s freezing again
I have the same problem, on macbook m1.
Still have the same issue on windowed mode
