Floop from Bandersmosh stops it to rotate

When you hit “Flobbidinous Floop” at new Shaman legendary “Bandersmosh” and play a minion, its stats changes to 3/4 from 5/5. At the start of your next turn the card doesn’t change.

Bandersmoshes text says: Each turn this is in your hand, transform it into a 5/5 copy of a random Legendary minion.

Hand Transform effects don’t stack. The last one to trigger’s buff overwrites the other’s prior. This isn’t a bug.

next time you get floop dont play a minion!

There have been more such situations, with other cards that transform in hand (Chameleos and Shifter Zerus). The reason is always the same, and the reason it’s confusing is because the card texts are actually a simplification of what really happens.

So Flobbidinous Floop reads “While in your hand, this is a 3/4 copy of the last minion you played”. But is actually programmed as “When you play a minion while this is in your hand, transform it into a 3/4 copy of that minion, then give that minion the Flobbidinous Floop enchantment”. So you play a minion (e.g. an Elven Archer), then Floop first turns into a regular Elven Archer with better stats, but then the Floop enchantment is added to ensure it keeps morphing.

And Bandersmosh reads “Each turn this is in your hand, transform it into a 5/5 copy of a random Legendary minion”, but is actually coded as “If this is in your hand at the start of your turn, transform it into a 5/5 copy of a random Legendary minion, then give that minion the Bandersmosh enchantment”.

So what happens when Bandersmosh randomly turns into a Floop is that it has the same power as a normal Floop, with the Bandersmosh effect on top. Now two things can happen:

  1. You don’t play minions on your turn. You play spells, weapons, hero cards, or even pass, but no minions. The Floop enchantment will not activate. At the start of the next turn the Bandersmosh enchantment will trigger and you’ll have a new 5/5 legendary, that will again transform next turn.
  2. You do play at least one minion. This triggers the Floop enchantment, so not the “Floop + Bandersmosh” applies the rules of that Floop enchantment: it becomes a 3/4 copy of whatever you played, then gives it the Floop enchantment. It will not also give it the Bandersmosh enchantment, since the activated Floop enchantment is not supposed to do that.

I hope this helps!
