I make this critical mistake all too often. I don’t invest thought in my turns nearly as much as I should sometimes. I’ll play too quickly without enough consideration and realize the second after I make a misplay that I made a misplay. It’s a terrible feeling, and I get hard on myself for being doing this again and again. It’s like I am speed playing. I can’t fathom myself why I do this.
And so here is a little advice. Make sure to take your time – even if it makes you take longer on your turns. There’s this notion that playing slowly is taboo. Screw that! You take your time, as much as you need, to think through your turns so that you make the optimal plays.
Take. Your. Time!

And consider that your opponent that may be playing slowly might just need that time to think. If they’re taking too long for you, you can open another tab and go read or watch videos. You can also concede if it’s that painful for you.

Let me add that any Priest deck is good for boosting your don’t play so fast practice.

It also makes you a good arena player.

Ahhhh yes indeedy I do the same thing and almost always realize my misplay immediately after I do it. So I have in actuality, started to take my time! Heck, I don’t care if my opponents take their whole turn everytime. If I’m playing Hearthstone, why am I in a rush?

Bc that’s what the devs would have you believe is the best way to play. Fast games over well before turn 10. They encourage it with all the broken cards they’ve been printing and their open disdain for control decks. It’s sad really, they’ve taken a game with fun and variety and turned it into something that people believe should be played with speed and very little thought.

It’s a pity they don’t have Nozdormus mode for those how prefer faster games.

I do the same but it’s usually due to the slow animations. Something unexpected pops up and my play becomes bad because i didn’t consider something the slow animation put on the table. Example would be the rouge poison creature secret going off but I already attacked face instead of taking care of the creature. Now the poison guy can kill my big minion instead of my small one…

honestly, roping is ok at high ranks because you need to think about your plays but in the dumpster or in dia/plat/gold etc…it’s just so annoying when facing slow players
I’m not trying to say to rope every turn. But, yeah, if taking slightly more time to think positively affects your winrate, you may as well.
