i mean, it has the previous expansion’s priest wincondition: discover discover discover until opponent is out of resources.
i assume that he relies on mutanous and illucia vs warlocks though
cant see how you win vs mage though.
even if you eat their quest reward, you cant illucia their ignites away since they go back to their deck, so eventually the scaling damage will outpace you. Uness maybe you wait for the illucia and try to nab their hightened ignites to do a bit of burst yourself, but i dont see how you will have them low enough for 2 ignites to be enough to finish them.
i would not overreact on day 2, let´s give it a week to settle, so far i´m doing very well with rogue despite it apparently being terrible according to your stats aswell (despite having the best darn card in the quest meta, which certainly almost nobody plays).
That being said i don´t think they know yet what a strong priest that is acceptable would look like.
I wouldn’t really count that deck he listed as a real deck that’s going to get you to Legend #1 if that’s the case. That’s just troll bait to say that from him.
If you get to Legend #2 after playing 1000 games using deck A and then use deck B and hit Legend #1 from #2, is it really fair to claim that deck B is a Legend #1 deck?
To me, it feels a lot like that. It really doesn’t count if that’s the case. And with him encountering no mages, that seems extremely likely considering you get a mage at least once every 5 games last night. They were literally everywhere.
How about make mage where it’s less solitaire feeling, less RNG reliable, and more towards a style of Elemental mage like Jaina of the past?
Or what about an entirely new refreshing idea, similar how to Paladin’s got Librams, Mage can get Spellbooks that have do something fun like allow them to combine cards together throughout the game that slowly work up to something big?
It means there are still people winning games with Priest, and that means someone will win a game at High Legend and then some streamer is going to complain about it.
So expect a nerf to Priest soon.
I’ll probably just play something else for a while. Mage without the questline is pretty strong, and there’s a good list without any noncore legendaries, but more likely I’ll just play the game less. What worries me more is the state of Wild. It’s usually very diverse.
The control meta of hs is OVER, it’s not going to happen. They don’t care about control, why is that hard to understand? This game is only aggro/otk/combo nothing else.
Another interesting deck here. Actually tried this one and it was pretty fun! Had a solid couple of games vs Paladin and Shaman. Shadowcloth Needle put in so much work.
Still insta-lose to Mage and Warlock, but I don’t think there’s going to be a Priest deck that doesn’t other than full aggro Shadow lol.
That’s pretty much what happened last time and will most likely happen again whenever a priest player starts dumping on some of these streamer crybabies.
I hear the same bs every expansion every nerf or buff patch you know what i see now every time i see that bs excuse?
“Lets wait a couple of weeks so the majority will forget about it and stop complaining so that lead classes will go untouched and lossing classes stays in the gutter…thank you.”
Yeah Priest seems underpowered (upup!?) at the moment and I’m not sure what they are going to do about it.
To be fair Priestt decks are always difficult to build with a new meta, and Shadow/aggro/burst Priest is pretty much a completely new deck so lots of experimentation to be done there (I’ve built a ShadowPriest deck focusing more on the discover minions and then bursting down your opponent which looks quite different from most others I’ve seen , and it seems to do a bit better than the list in the deckbuilder), but a winrate in the 30’s is truly awful.
As others have said , fatigue control listt face some straight counters in this current Standard, so I don’t think buffing that archetype will be fruitful.
I would like them to buff the Shadowpriest synergy cards, seems like the most interesting direction, maybe give Shadowcloth needle an extra durability (Love this card), but even something like that doesn’t feel enough vs the curent power level.
Not sure if they’ll have to buff multiple priest cards or just leave us in the dumpster for a few months (although I think we’re too deep in the dumpster and starting to smoulder, so they’ll have to do something)
